You’re confusing the J6 assholes for these people that didn’t even lay a hand on someone that didn’t have the authority to deny them entry.

I have to disagree with you here, they have no more right than any other US Citizen. We have 3 branches of government and there is a check and balance system built into the constitution. The DOE is under the executive branch, so a Congressman has no more authority in an executive office building than a normal US Citizen. Congress has the power of the purse and the impeachment power.

A good parent has the difficult task and sometimes has to spank a child.
Yes, in this metaphor the democrats are the children.
…a little pain is a good thing and will make the entire family better.
You sound like a very bad child lately btw.

Love it. Dems showing their asses all over the place screaming and hollering like the spoiled children they are. Just curious, where are the people in the streets rioting across the nation as they are being told to do?

Insurrection = See democrats in action today attacking the executive and threatening the SCOTUS.

    Winning. Promises made, promises kept.

    It’s 100% a photo op.

If I was trying to find out what a government agency was doing, “drop by a federal office building and have a look around” is one of the least productive things I could possibly do to accomplish that. That’s the reason the only people who do that are overly dramatic local TV reporters and, apparently, Democrats in Congress.

They have subpoena power and contempt power, if they actually want to know things they can subpoena documents and force people to show up and testify.

While Congressional hearings are also, by and large, a useless show usually, there is at least the possibility you could gain information from them if you took them seriously - not even that possibility exists with this “just drop by” stunt.

(And I agree with the sentiment expressed later in the thread, being a member of Congress does not give them the ability to enter executive branch facilities on demand. It may make it much more likely that the executive will give them permission to [because as a general matter you usually want to keep the people that control your funding happy if you can easily do so], but it doesn’t give them some automatic entitlement to.)

The reality here is Dems need to be smarter (which is a tall order). They have become a rudderless caucus (post Pelosi) without a refined and clear agenda for the American people.

“Prosperity 2027 / 2029” should be crafted and written now.

100% focus should be to get a majority in the house to launch 2 years of investigations into the prior 2 years.

This is bullshit and you know it. No one has ever disobeyed a Congressional subpoena, have they? Right, glad we could clear that up. Which Republican chairs will even issue subpoenas right now? Two strikes. And tell me, who is in control of the sergeant at arms to try enforce them? Get the picture yet? Who, specifically, in the executive branch is going to prosecute if it makes it that far? Let’s not forget the courts.

No, it won’t happen. And everyone else that puts up a modicum of resistance is suspended or dismissed. It makes sense for “untouchable” members of Congress to try see first hand what is going on because whether you want to amidst it or not, we both know DOGE and the agency heads will not be forthcoming.

If it wasn't a photo op, why was the press there with cameras rolling? I'm sure the press normally watches the door of the Department of Education. lol

Press haven’t been outside the various agencies DOGE is attacking? Where you been? Regardless, it can be both as they’re not mutually exclusive. It’s hard to get word out to the mainstream without the press reporting on it.
