Yeah I didn’t know this about Warnock, wow. I don’t want to hear anymore about Walker’s character or his past. I’m not surprised, but still angry that the media isn’t talking about this. Information of the arrest came out in 2020.

Yeah, he tried to get his counselors at a summer camp (who weren't suspects of a crime but were potential witnesses) to have lawyers for a police interview. That monster! I'm just shocked that charges were immediately dropped. Also shocked that neither of you mentioned it.

PolitiFact - No proof Warnock ‘ran over’ wife; obstruction case dropped

Yeah, when has “no proof” mattered to you guys? And Warnock was indeed arrested for obstructing a child abuse investigation. That’s easily provable. It happened.

Do you comprehend that it was a bogus arrest (charges dropped) and people have a right to council? The cops were mad that he told teenagers (who were not suspects) to get a lawyer before the cops could question them… so they arrested him. People have a right to remain silent, and a right to a lawyer. Advising people to assert their rights against police malpractice makes me like him even more.

I do. It’s not every day a pastor gets arrested for obstructing a child abuse investigation.

If they were not suspects, why did they need lawyers? And sure, charges dropped, so nothing to see here. Pastors get arrested for obstructing child abuse investigations all the time. No biggie if the charges were dropped. Charges dropped also do not make an arrest “bogus”. Lots of perfectly correct arrests made and then later charges dropped on technicalities and other things. He was arrested for blocking a child abuse investigation. Why did the teens need lawyers if they were not suspects?

OKeechobe legal advice - if you’re not a suspect you don’t need lawyer. This will revolutionize civil and criminal law in the US

People get arrested for pissing cops off by asserting their constitutional rights all the time... See The blind guy arrested for packing a.concealled cane for the latest example. The cops were wrong, not the pastor...

Common sense tells me they don’t arrest a pastor over a large church for obstructing justice unless they really had reason to do so. I’m pretty sure there’s more to it than Warnock simply saying “hi police. Oh, before you talk to these kids, I want to make sure they have representation” and cops said “put your hands behind your back!!” I’m sure that’s exactly how it went down.

Fortunately you being being “pretty sure” has no relevance in law.

Yeah and if you know anything about police you'd know that they aren't the easiest people to communicate with. I'm not even going to go into detail about the other factors about the south, black people and police have in common.

Wait, are you a bot? Because I said nothing about proof. He wasn't even prosecuted and the prosecutors praised him. Again, his great crime was telling the witnesses that they should have lawyers when they talked to the police.

Telling young people about their legal rights. Certainly wouldn't want somebody like that working for the government!

I have a big problem with Raphael Warnock protecting child predators.

No, you have a problem with him protecting children being interviewed by the police, which is what he did.
