umm, Herschel is no pauper. A Republican fanboy pointing at a candidate and screaming rich guy, rich guy is quite amusing. No, Warnock is intelligent and by most measures has led a more upright life to this point.
Again, how can you be so sure? This guy is wealthy and he is a freaking preacher! That’s very strange how suddenly you like the Christian rich guy. Seems convenient.
538 update: 63% chance of Walker victory. Walker receives 49.9% of the vote, Warnock 48.5% of the vote Should probably be noted that 538 momentum has been shifting hard Walker for the past two weeks. My prediction is Walker will win tonight with 51.5% of the vote.
There was a time when I was pleased to identify as a Republican delegate from north Atlanta / Dunwoody. Ten years I served, much of it through the Newt Gingrich era, until fed up with the under handed machinations going on behind closed door, I resigned my position. Retrospective analysis reveals to me now the tip of the dangerous, destructive iceberg even then forming under the surface. I remained and identified as a member of the Republican Party for several more years, until well after we moved back to Gainesville in 2000. Weathering through the years of George Bush and into the more chaotic post Iraq years, my eyes continually opening to the more obvious ruptures occurring when the Tea Party machinations began. At first I was intrigued with that movement, initially thinking as a conservative person, it might or possibly could bring about changes that would be good for the country. But it, indeed the entire party, was eventually overtaken by the radical right that now owns the GOP and its moral destruction was sealed. I did not leave the party because I changed my views and goals. The morally bankrupt party left me and other conservatives who continued to uphold the shaking moral underpinings finally bulldozed by Trump and his acolytes.
Putting too much faith in people who run for office….maybe so. Me, I’m taking a slightly more detached approach to voting. I can only control my thoughts, feelings and actions. These politicians are not the kind of folks I’m ever hanging out with. Like taxes, a necessary evil.
I don’t know how anyone can say with absolute truth who is the better candidate. Maybe you have access to both candidates exhaustive biographies. I can’t say I’m perfectly comfortable with a guy who made his millions off the backs of Christians.
Having objections to one unqualified candidate does not indicate support or acceptance of another who is unacceptable for other reasons. You make an unsupportable accusation. If I still lived in Georgia I would perhaps feel I was boxed into a corner to vote for a person like Warnock. I would certainly consider the minor candidates on the ballot as I did when Trump ran in 2016. I was appalled when he won the nomination but I could not get behind Hillary so considered alternative minor party candidates and came close to voting that way. Should have done so, but was convinced by well meaning, but misguided relatives to vote for Trump to keep Hillary out of office. I will regret that vote to my last breath. It was a vote that was not repeated in 2020.
I think I get where you're coming from. From my point of view, state legislators and members of Congress can certainly do good things and can do harm. But mostly just by their votes, and most are going to vote party line as a practical matter. For executive officers, governors, sheriffs, judges, and election supervisors, I think character and aptitude matter even more given their roles and their decision-making authority.
It appears a few of your Too Hot cronies cannot refrain from dishing out ugly abusive comments, creating divisive angry displays and posting videos and memes intended only to mock and offend. In their anger they want to punish and hurt those they believe responsible for their grievances. What is happening today is not a sport or game. It's serious business and sane, reasonable people don't appreciate the massive displays of hate projected at them from people who are themselves the source of it. If those who represent the liberal side on this forum are not participating now, it could be it is for those reasons or perhaps others. I replied with regard to what I have observed.
LOL. Strange take. The libbies you seem to be responding for, many are easily some of the most divisive posters here. They can dish it but can’t take it is what I think you should have said.
Yes they are. But I inferred your post did not ask why some extreme righties might also be absent. Are you impatient for partisan skirmishes? Patience, grasshopper - it's early with a l-o-n-g night ahead.
