Interestingly, I took a basic meteorology class at UF and learned a lot that I still recall. That and Food Science were probably the two best optional classes I took.

The best teacher I had in High School was also an algebra teacher, Mrs Patterson but she had huge boobies. Don't think I learned much in her class couldn't keep my mind on math.

Sounds a bit like my HS Spanish teacher. She was a 20 something blonde from Tennessee and spoke Spanish with a southern accent so I didnt learn much. It probably didnt help that she used to sit on the desk to teach. ;)

Thankfully, I had a very good Spanish teacher in middle school who was actually from Spain. Of course, once I moved to Miami, I quickly realized the locals didn't really speak much of the Spanish I had learned.

I remember physics class at UF where you lost points for wrong answers and average scores were in the 30% range with some people getting negative scores.

I know the rest of the board will appreciate the comment, but I sincerely hope that you become self-aware enough some day so that you too can appreciate right along with us the irony of you bemoaning "biased nonsense".

Florida is doing just fine. And people are moving here because we handled Covid better than any other state. We are paying teachers more. But you want to focus on Covid. Which we got right as a state. For teachers and kids. Well we got it more right than any other state. We should not have shut the most vulnerable out of school in the Spring of 2020.

Florida is booming and we are doing as good as we ever have been when it comes to education. Does that mean you rest and stop moving to get better? No.

You need not worry about Florida with DeSantis. Like our Dental Practice. We are always striving to be better at what we do.

You just brought Covid into this thread. You are so caught in the propaganda it is crazy. And you are one that I know is capable of one day admitting it. There are a few others I am not sure about. But Florida has been spending money on education and since you want to bring Covid into the mix…Florida has shown it was right on education and Covid. Granted we should have only shut down for a couple of weeks instead of the rest of Spring after spring break. But…

Your teachers aren't making shit, fourth from last behind Mississippi, South Dakota and West Virginia. My sister-in-law teaches first grade in Bay County. She makes less than sanitation workers up here. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

    Screw physics!(sarcasm)

If you really want to help kids, hire more physical education teachers and require more PE classes.

Exercise more effective than medicines to manage mental health

Teacher pay is not the real issue. You and I will surely disagree on what compensation is right. Though Florida is working to raise pay. The bigger issue is work environment and all the wasted time doing meaningless paperwork and not allowing teachers to do their job efficiently/effectively.

Sure ... take it from a guy who doesn't teach, but openly brags about his wealth, "teacher pay is not the real issue"... LOL. I bet no actual teacher will tell you that. BTW, if burdensome paperwork is part of the job, as if can be with many jobs, then that is actually a reason to pay them more ...

Maybe Chinese teachers would be cheap like their goods. Bargains, right.

Meaningless paperwork is the hinderance that keeps teachers from the kids and doing what they do best. But you do you and focus on your ad hominem lol…

And yes. Teachers are paid fairly.
