I have an APC. I think I splurged and got the one with 8 outlets. If the power goes out it makes a really annoying beep. I usually just shut it off because I can't stand the noise.

The wind has definitely picked up

 

Yeah, up to a foot of rain in the mountains. It’s gonna be real bad.

 

So I was checking out Tropical Tidbits and the model for GFS has a storm popping up in the gulf/Yucatan area late next week and just sitting there and strengthening for a while over water. By a week from Tuesday, it is supposed to have a pressure of 928. Then it is supposed to move towards Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama area right as the model ends. Hope the model is wrong on that one, because that sounds like a complete disaster.

 

LOL I saw that yesterday. It popped up and I was like whoa.... there is no mention of it anywhere.
