The issue isn't whether or not they discussed business and other than the two of them no one probably has any idea whether they did or not, it's whether old Joe acted improperly because Hunter persuaded him to do so and so far there is absolutely no evidence that Joe did so or even rational speculation based on actual facts.

If it is no issue then why did Joe say he never discussed anything with HB but there are picture of Joe, HB, and his business associates playing golf? If nothing is there, why is Joe lying?

Here are the problems with it.
First, as I said above, if anyone anywhere thinks the American middle wants this prioritized over not being able to pay their grocery bills, they are beyond help.
Second, let’s say every word they uttered is true, all this was before his presidency. And he wasn’t even in office at all when it happened. So what are they going to prove?
and they conveniently ignored it all with the Trump’s and their business dealings, now it matters?
but most importantly, we just had a referendum on this nonsense, and the pubs massively underperformed relative to current and historical expectations. They appear to have learned nothing from any of it.

What a sad state this country is in, where the party in power automatically investigates the other. It was a good run the US had, but it's over. There is literally nothing to look forward too for the avg US citizen.

The laptop hasn't been verified. Many of the emails from the laptop have been verified. The repair guy who provided the hard drive has said that many of the things he has seen released from the hard drive weren't there when he made it public.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...unter-biden-laptop-disinfo-guy-who-leaked-it/

“The experts found the data had been repeatedly accessed and copied by people other than Hunter Biden over nearly three years,” our report explained, with those we spoke with being unable to “reach definitive conclusions about the contents as a whole, including whether all of it originated from a single computer or could have been assembled from files from multiple computers and put on the portable drive.”

    For example:
“[An expert] also found records on the drive that indicated someone may have accessed the drive from a West Coast location in October 2020, little more than a week after the first New York Post stories on Hunter Biden’s laptop appeared.”
“Over the next few days, somebody created three additional folders on the drive, titled, ‘Mail,' ‘Salacious Pics Package’ and ‘Big Guy File’ — an apparent reference to Joe Biden.”

One expert likened it to a crime scene that was littered with fast-food wrappers thanks to the first police who’d arrived on the scene. That’s meant as an indictment, but it’s also generous. The first people on the scene weren’t police, in this case; they were (to extend the analogy) people aiming to obtain an indictment against a particular person.

That part is pretty normal, its just that the investigations keep getting dumber and more internet-brained. There is a whole lore of the Hunter Biden story that no one who isnt inhaling 20 hours of Hannity a day understands. But if they want to spin their wheels investigating a guy who isnt even part of the government, I suppose that's their prerogative.

Cool. First move by the republicans post election is this vs the democrats codifying marriage equality. Nice.

If I were Hunter I’d quote Pence “The House has no right to my testimony”.

If this is what to what you're referring it never happened or at least not the way that it was presented.

Trump's kids were regularly doing business in countries you are labeling as "adversaries." Can you name the Congressional investigations that looked into the Trump building in Azerbaijan paid for by corrupt Azerbaijani government officials and their family businesses with ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard? And that had the added bonus of actual government employees involved, as Ivanka Trump was personally involved in that little money laundering operation. Trump and his kids and their spouses regularly had business dealings in China (again, including both of his family members who served under him). His kid claimed that they received all the funding that they needed from Russia. His company was trying to build a building in Russia while he was running for office. He regularly collects revenue from a variety of Russian oligarchs. And yet, none of this seemed quite so interesting to Republicans as the former VP's son used his name to sit on some boards, including one in Ukraine, and worked out a real estate deal in China.

And the point of these investigations is never the outcome when Republicans run them: it is about the creation of narratives prior to the outcome. Ask the average Fox News viewer how the Durham investigation turned out, and I doubt you would hear back, one conviction to a low level employee, two acquittals, and no evidence of upper level corruption. Because the investigation was useful to the narrative, while the outcome wasn't. So the outcome wasn't really discussed.

BTW, to prove the point: you labeled the Russian Collusion story as a nothing burger, when there is evidence of collusion (passing of internal polling to a foreign intelligence organization engaged in illegal political influence and extensive crimes in pursuit of the goal of electing Trump). But that evidence isn't useful to your narrative.

And, yes, I doubt that the American public has much appetite right now for Hunter Biden newscycles.

As I say with any public or private citizen-if there's reasonable evidence a crime was committed-investigate away.

But for this to be the first priority of the new Congressional majority is simply laughable as Hunter and Joe were both private citizens in 2018 when The Big Guy email was written. .

Russia's Prigozhin admits interfering in U.S. elections | Reuters

Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin said on Monday he had interfered in U.S. elections and would continue doing so in future, the first such admission from a figure implicated by Washington in efforts to influence American politics.

In comments posted by the press service of his Concord catering firm on Russia's Facebook equivalent VKontakte, Prigozhin said: "We have interfered (in U.S. elections), we are interfering and we will continue to interfere. Carefully, accurately, surgically and in our own way, as we know how to do."

Documents show big foreign gov't spending at Trump hotel | AP News

NEW YORK (AP) — The Trump hotel in Washington took in more than $750,000 from six foreign governments at sensitive moments in their U.S. relations, with guests spending as much as $10,000 per room a night, according to documents from the Trump family company’s former accountants released Monday by a congressional committee.

The Trump International Hotel received at least $259,724 on a visit by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak and other officials in September 2017 while the U.S. Justice Department was investigating his role in a money laundering scandal, according to a statement released by the Democratic-led House Oversight Committee.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates spent at least $164,929 that same year and in 2018 for hotel stays while trying to win over support after their blockade of Qatar, according to the committee, citing documents from former Trump accountants Mazars USA. For its part, Qatar spent more than $300,000 at the hotel.

The heavy foreign government spending at Donald Trump’s hotel, since sold to a Miami-based investment firm, has been reported before but details and the timing of this snapshot of payments are new. Two days after a March 2018 stay by the Saudis, the committee noted, then-president Trump approved $1.3 billion in arms sales to the country.
