My kids liked the pizza buffet place. Its name escapes me. I think they liked it because it had a self serve frozen custard machine there. The pizza was worse than generic frozen pizza.
That's my point. One side (He) is using unnecessary coded racial language. Other side is judging people based on restaurants. Both seem to fit the extremes of TH.
CeCe's. And its dreadful. My kids never even really wanted it. Thankfully. For a family on a budget it was unbeatable though.
I doubt there was any malicious intent here. But it's worth some self reflection at the very least. I have caught myself mentioning a person's race or ethnicity when those weren't relevant to the story. I also noticed I probably wasn't doing that if I was talking about a White guy. If we are inclined to do that, it should at least give us some pause. And if we ever feel the need to speak in code, it might be a signal to examine whether it's really something we want to say at all.
Are they creating a scene or being loud and obnoxious toward my friend and me? If not, I'm probably not going to give a shit and keep enjoying whatever beverage I'm having. I don't drink, so I probably wouldn't be in a bar anyway.
Could you imagine a time where two different individuals are in close proximity and may attempt at communication about that juxtaposition? If you say no, I don’t think you’re being honest. It’s human nature to notice our differences.
I never said no one noticed them, I said I simply wouldn't care. If it was a black man wearing a MAGA hat, would the OP say look at that Canadian in his MAGA hat?
And I love how the uneducated continue to throw around the term "elitism" as though they even understand what that implies. When in reality it is more a public display of their own insecurities over limited intellectual capabilities.
