Or just some people wondering why a serial plagiarist was President of Harvard?

I’m not seeing an Adam’s Apple, so that is at least refreshing. Gotta start somewhere.

She’s gone because of Oct 7. Once the big money boosters fell off her bandwagon the clock was ticking, the other stuff just hastened the inevitable.
The fact that they continually make it about race only makes the point that they still don’t get it. Unless they somehow completely disassociate what happened there from what happened at Penn and now is happening at MIT. That’s not to say there weren’t bad actors trying to bring her down, but they weren’t the root cause, Gay’s own actions were.
If people want to say that the Jewish alums of these schools pushed too hard or that some of the free speech criticisms were too one sided, that’s a fair conversation. But university presidents are the PR leaders of their schools. When their presence becomes detrimental, they are easy to cut loose. Harvard and Penn were bleeding daily in the press and with their big money, which wasn’t sustainable and there had to be a large sacrificial lamb. It’s not more complicated than that.

They didn't make it about race. The racists did.

And was it about race at Penn? Or MIT?
No one is excusing the bigots, but it’s not why she is gone.
If Harvard truly wants to get past this they need to deal with the real root causes. And a self important conservative blogger claiming victory is about number 8 on the list.

How many articles have you seen written accusing Liz Magill or Sally Kornbluth of being a "DEI hire" or getting their job because of their race? Cause . . .
Bill Ackman claims Harvard president was hired because of DEI initiative
Of course Harvard’s president is a diversity hire | The College Fix
Claudine Gay is a DEI hire lacking intellectual credentials, critics argue
Leading educators call for Harvard's new president to be hired based on merit not DEI to prove prestigious university has not 'abandoned the veneer of meritocracy' in the wake of Claudine Gay's exit | Daily Mail Online
    Claudine Gay’s DEI Empire
    -------------------------------------------------------
Harvard has had one Black president in its entire history (dating back to Colonial America). And somehow, that is the person who wasn't qualified for the job. The Crimson students are spot on.

DEI is just another word for racism. Shame on anyone who uses it.

C'mon Okee. This is a counter productive angle that feeds right into the DEI beast.

She was ousted because her resume could not withstand the scrutiny she wrought upon herself due to her anti-semitism.

What she looks like, what box she checks, etc., is how she got hired, not why she got fired.

The left is taking her firing personally, and you're playing right into their faux indignation.

She earned her removal in spades; don't go providing her with cover.

not sure about that. Ackerman posted a 1000+ word substantive and scathing rebuke of everything Claudine Gay and Harvard SOP referencing DEI. First hand conversations of facility and students and did his own due diligence because it was a priority to understand the entirety of what was going on at Harvard post Oct 7. He’s certainly not considered a racist by any measure. Her Op Ed in NYT pointing fingers and taking zero responsibility isn’t helping. And no I don’t think it’s about plagiarism as if it was she wouldn't have kept a 1m job and professor title. That being said it’s difficult to imagine any UF law student, and certainly faculty surviving 5 accusations of plagiarism and certainly not 50.
