Let's keep it in perspective, the defense was playing very poorly including the secondary at the beginning of season and then suddenly the defense improved mid season and continued to improve every game after that and was playing at a high level at the end of the season.

What changed? Ron Robert took over the defense. The change was not coach Harris and coach Harris clearly benefited from it, despite them not getting along.

I think Harris is a good coach and recruiter but he will have coached for 5 teams in 5 years. We will get a good coach to replace him and I'm sure Ron Roberts will be a part of the hiring process.

    All the turnover is exhausting.

Roberts was brought in to fix the defense I assume at all costs. I hope he can stabilize staff.

Hmmmm.... Interesting quote from Harris. Did he get fired or pushed out?

Billy - As they say, the ones who bleed together are brothers. We went through the trenches last year and pulled out one hell of a finish. With that being said, I understand business is business, and you have to do what you believe is best for the University of Florida’s football program. I appreciate you.

That message to the players seemed to come off a bit self-serving... with tampering overtones. But it is a business, and he has NO business trying to steal our players once he's fully indoctrinated into the scUM way of life, which will teach him that tampering is okay in their book.

Against ol miss, i think it was more front seven than secondary. Dart threw for a bunch of yards but we sacked him a bit and stopped their short yardage plays.

Let’s see if Billy will play that game? He will likely go get young guy that was make coffee for the coaches during his days at Bama.

I’m guessing he will hire someone he has worked with in past. That seems to be his MO

If we knew for sure Roberts was the reason our D improved, you would be on to something. FTR, since 2018, Roberts has had four stops.

We flipped some great players last cycle. I hope we do it again. Will that be tampering?

Hypothetical BS. But, play your games.

NOT the same thing... However, if we were to steal a position coach from another school, that the play in question originally committed to, then we take the player too... yes.

It's not BS. The player decommitted. This is recruiting 101 and has been happening for decades. Why is it tampering? And, if we just took a coach from scUM, then a highly regarded player decommitted and was CB'd to us, we would say "great, awesome, nice pick up by Napier. He's playing chess". You're looking at it with Gator goggles. I don't see how you can agree that it's fair if we did the same thing but feel unfairly treated that it happens to us. But okay.

To add, you probably saw the video where it seemed confirmed WE changed Harris' responsibilities and compensation. If that were done to you, wouldn't you be willing to move on and add as much value to your new employer as you were able? I would.

Yes, but we have to start by hiring stable coaches.

Mr. Harris is going to have a hard time convincing recruits that he will be coaching them for the next 3-4 years with his track record, and you know colleges will be using that to recruit against him.

Seriously, cb is the easier of the coaching assignments, and the turnaround seems to be more RR related than Harris. On mere impact next year, RR is more important than Harris.I was more disappointed by the loss of the cb analyst, as he led a turnaround prior. Harris didn't do that in prior assignments.

Like the nfl where money is the main reason players sign with teams as feee agents, I think NIL matters a ton more than who is coaching them. It might matter some but is no longer as important as it used to be. Money is the driving factor where players sign and transfer to these days.

Hate the Gators? I strongly dislike highly paid, hard-headed mediocrity and poor management. Lay off the kool aid.
