Harris donations exceed Trump's by over 4 : 1

If you actually read my post I included the caveat that the article was almost a month old. My point wasn't the amount so much as that it was predominately from small donors.

By the way that while the Harris campaign also received a fair amount of donations from megadonors as a percentage of total donations it doesn't come close to that of the Trump campaign. A significant difference is that the large donors to the Trump campaign are contributing primarily to protect their own financial interests. In contrast most of the large donors to the Harris campaign are motivated by principle and are actually supporting a candidate who has proposed policies that would actually harm their personal self-interest especially with respect to taxation.

 

Makes as much sense as saying that people in favor of higher tax rates should just send all their money to the government.

And how do you know why donors donate to Harris vs Trump? You know they are motivated by principle? Funny I didn’t think you were so naive.

 

In answer to your question, it's a reasonable inference especially considering that Trump has offered a quid pro quo when soliciting donations from megadonors. While I cannot say unequivocally that Harris's large donors are motivated by principle considering that they would be worse off under her tax proposals it's rather obvious that for most of them self-interest is not a primary factor.
