My apologies for the tone of my posts. This post of yours reveals a man of strong character. I misjudged you when I shouldn't have been judging at all.

Look at how much we can accomplish with sales taxes but no income taxes!

The IRS has gotten a lot worse. We had to amend our business taxes from 2021 because we overpaid by a large amount (mistake made by our accountant). 6 months after the amended taxes they finally sent out a check according to them, but we never received it. So, this is where it became unbelievably difficult. We had to fill out form explaining we never received it, we had wait 3 months for it to be assigned to an agent. Now trying to get that agent to respond back to you is a job of its own (45 days shy of a year). Any way to make a long story short they make you wait a year before they will issue you another check or that's how long I've been waiting. They actually just sent me their first response to my letter in response to my many calls and forms that we filled out at their request, basically stating they needed another 45 days to give me an answer, lol. This has been the biggest pain to deal with. I will say all the employees that I did have contact with were extremely nice to deal with, but they couldn't get the agent to respond.

I suggest anybody that owns or have owned a business should have a very good tax accountant with lots of experience, that firm should have more than one CPA and multiple assistants. I also choose one close to my age at the time so they would most likely be with me through the duration of me owning the business.

I do my kids taxes on the IRS website, for their taxes it's easy yes.

Not really. Pretty much the central feature of failed states. There is a government in theory but not in practice.

10-15% should work if we disband the military and get rid of Social Security and Medicare.

If you are suggesting that being forced to pay taxes is extortion, then you should put your money where your mouth is. Stop using the roads and highways, which are paid for with taxes. Stop flying on airplanes, regulated by a federal agency with airports full of federal employees ensuring your "safety", like that matters. Stop buying products that were transported on those government highways and through those airports. Stop using the internet, which was originally developed by the government. Stop eating foods that were part of a government inspection program. Grow and raise your own foods. Get off the electrical grid, which is also regulated by the government. Provide your own medical care, up to and including surgery, so you don't have to use the government-regulated medical system. Show 'em who's boss. Let us know (through smoke signals) after you've done all these things.

Well, either you haven't been voting like you should be to make sure we have responsible representation, or you have likely been voting for some or all of the bad operators in government.

To me, there are two problems:

    1) It's fun to spend OPM (Other People's Money). It is easy to get distracted by all of the power at your fingertips and spend money like a drunken sailor.

    2) Voters are easily swayed by celebrity, fame, charm, and good looks, as well as snappy insults. How else can you explain MTG, Boebert, Gaetz, and others in Congress? Voters pay much less attention to things like intelligence, integrity, or ideas. Compared to the attributes above, those are irrelevant to voters raised on MTV and reality shows. The Idiocracy is real.
