Not after getting beat by three touchdowns at home in the fashion they did. Even Urban Meyer said after the game they aren’t a playoff team. Bama with 2 losses should get in as their 2 losses were literally walk-offs on the road. Very forgivable. They are 2 plays away from being undefeated. Ohio state is 100 plays away from being undefeated.

Oh I agree, absolutely. I just know committee shenanigans are inevitable if the door opens.

My only care is that Georgia doesn’t win it again. In my opinion the best chance of that happening means Alabama makes the playoff. They have a good enough of a 1) record if chaos ensues ahead of them (a couple of last second losses on the road that any of the teams outside of Georgia ahead of them would have lost also) and 2) pass the eye ball test.

College football has put in teams that haven’t won their division before and they have even put a 2 loss team in the national championship game before (lsu) who won it all and proved even with 2 losses they belonged.

So yes, If chaos ensues ahead of them Bama could and should get in. Period.

Not so fast, my friend. Michigan annihilated Ohio State for the second straight year. And it’s QB is impressive.

Alabama is also 2 plays away from having 4 losses. None of tOSU's wins came down to the wire, I think they stay above Bama.

Here's another thing to consider that works against Bama: Let's assume LSU wins today, but loses to UGA next week. If you drop LSU behind Bama at that point, you're penalizing LSU for winning the division and playing an extra game while rewarding Bama for sitting at home eating cheeseburgers. The committee will not want to do that if they can help it. But they can justify keeping tOSU above LSU throughout because of only having the one loss.

I was going to start a "GA vs. the field, who ya got?" thread, but this is a better place to pose that question - thanks @twodaparty. Before the OSU/MI game, I would def have taken the field, but I'm not so sure now. Then again, maybe OSU was not as good as we thought? I think this MI team is a good bit stronger than last year's version and this UGA team is not as good as last year's. MI would appear to have the best chance of beating them. Will be interesting to see how LSU does.

This is why they HAVE to expand the CFP teams.
