Halloween canceled…..

The fact that it’s specific for school hours is key. And he didn’t “Cancel Halloween” as stated in the Fox headline. And if the poll in the OP was attempting to be relevant to the article, shouldn’t it mention “during school hours”. During school hours is really the actual point.

>>after discussing this important topic with them we anticipate that all SOMSD elementary schools will eventually have a fall, harvest festival, event or themed activities that can occur during school time and can be held on October 31st.”

Must be hard for you. Thinking critically as well. Moving Halloween celebrations to after school hours is not canceling Halloween. But leave it to reactionaries to get their panties all tied in knots.

No, I think people understand that it's simply about school hours. Claiming other posters are stupid doesn't accomplish anything.

'Inclusion' ideology, as you call it, can certainly be taken too far, but it's hardly inherently stupid. Schools have to be aware, particularly in the younger grades, that the feeling of being left out can be really difficult. A second-grader whose parents think Halloween is satanic could feel pretty crappy if everyone else in the class is in costume.
And the debate about Halloween costumes in schools has been going on a long time, well before the panic and outrage over DEI.
Lots of schools have switched to uniforms so poorer kids don't feel crappy because of their clothes, along with other reasons.

I honestly don't remember if I wore a costume to school. It was a long time ago. But I have pretty great memories of going out trick or treating, especially because kids could go without parents way back then.

 

What can I say? Besides representing a genuine threat to the country the pathological narcissist with the orange complexion is a really entertaining personality. Were he not afflicted with Narcissistic Personality Disorder after he lost the election Trump would have delivered a dignified concession speech and probably would have returned to what he does best reality television. He wouldn't be facing multiple indictments and he wouldn't have ruined the lives of well over a dozen other successful individuals mostly attorneys who should have known better and have really have only themselves to blame. As long as Donald Trump chooses to remain in the spotlight he remains a valid target for his antics and giving him credit where credit is due he still has the gift of manipulating the marks that continue to support him as well as politicians who probably know better but lack the balls to stand up to him.

When my boys were in elementary school, they had something called "Book-o-ween" where they dressed up as a character from a book they read and carried the book with them as they did some kind of parade around the school. That was mid 2000's so people weren't canceling all kinds of crap back then.

 

DEI is an obvious scapegoat, here.
