Hard to believe, we are #32 in Team Efficiency. On offense. Nationally, not in the SEC. #20 on defense. Overall, #15 !! 2017 and 2016, we were: 105/47/76, 84/4/20 Here's something interesting: all 3 teams that beat us, finished with higher team efficiencies (2/10/11)
I was loving the hire the second he stepped out of the private jet and Gator Chomping his way down the steps.
First a note: Back when Mac was getting ready to be let go, during some of his last remaining games. The offense had been ranked in the 100's for 3 YEARS!!! As a die hard Gator fan I was so wanting some offense to be restored to this team and University.... Therefore, during this same time with the last of Mac's era, Scott Frost was lighting up scoreboards with UCF's offense. He was young and up and coming. So, I wanted UF to hire Scott Frost. With all that said, I am SO GRATEFUL that Dan Mullen was hired instead. Really the respect the way he talks in his pressers, the attitude he carries, and to me, hearing some of the upperclassmen say to the younger guys that they wish they would of had this staff for their entire years here,..... speaks volumes to me. The future is not guaranteed but it is something that is going in the right direction and that is all anyone can ask without knowing the future for sure... Gator Nation, please forgive me in my errant way and let me rejoin the rejoicing, in the hiring of Coach Dan Mullen. I am on board 100% with this staff. GO GATORS!!!!
Interesting stat. In 12 games this season we scored 414 points. We haven't scored over 400 points since 2009 and that includes several seasons with 13 games and one season (2015, Mac's first year) with 14 games.
I was not a believer when he was hired to be honest, I think a lot of it is when Collins left MSU to be our DC he called it a lateral move which I felt he was taking a shot at us.. Yes I wanted Frost, I wondered why Dan didn’t come here before this season. Was it maybe Foley was the problem? I don't think we will ever know. So I am a believer now and throughout the season the way he interacted with the kids it started to show me that he truly is a Gator. Thanks for coming to resurrect our proud Gators.
I was leaning Frost too but only because I thought there was something to the rumors about Mrs. Mullen not wanting to come back to Gainesville. And if Mama ain't happy..... Now when I see Megan Mullen greeting, hugging each Gator player when they step off the bus for Gator Walk, I have a feeling that any old negative feelings (if there were any) are a thing of the past.
Right on. and all this filters down to high schools, along with parents' raving, is why I am not worried about recruiting.
I'm not a Kodak Black fan, but it will help with recruits. 2.3M followers on da' Twitter. RIP Florida State’s bowl streak (1982-2018)
Why do you say Orgeron? He's a horrible game/clock manager and lost to us when we were the #22 ranked team. LSU was ranked #5 at the time we played. Mullen simply out coached him in that game. LSU vs. Florida - Game Summary - October 6, 2018 - ESPN Same goes for last season as well when Mullen was at MSU and he stomped LSU. Orgeron lost to us in Death Valley in 2016 because he couldn't manage the clock/game late in the 4th QTR. He lost last night to A&M for the same reason. That game never should have went into OT. Oeaux Neaux is so over rated and inherited a loaded LSU team from Miles. Mullen on the other hand took over a train wreck and turned it into a contender in one season. UF wasn't even ranked in the preseason Top 25. Revamped Gators are No. 31 in 2018 preseason college football rankings That UK team is loaded with senior starters and they have continuity since Stoops has been there since 2012. He got lucky when he played us since we were missing two studs on defense and we were asleep when we played that game. UF's 2017/2018 stats (offense, defense, and special teams) show Mullen is COTY in my opinion. I've posted them in numerous threads here, but don't feel like digging them up again.
