I don't see her lasting long if she does get in. But she wouldn't be a bad a choice, but I would choose Mike Pompeo over her or Trump. I would like to see Ron stay in Florida also

I really can’t get a good take on Desantis. I hope he is saying and doing this nonsense to be more popular with the ignorant base of the Republican Party but I am not certain. People tend to become what they pretend to be.

The nonsense things I am referring to are the Fahrenheit 451 type things he is doing in schools. They are wrongheaded and borderline evil. If it’s not to rile up the knuckle draggers then why would he do it?

You know its true. It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. Either way, the left will chose a strategy and oppose her.

So why lean even remotely toward the side that will oppose her?

Same goes for Biden. Lets be honest, outside of politics it is doubtful that a devout catholic of his generation is going to be very supportive of abortion. But a life of politics has taught him that leaning a little on that issue will hurt him with his side while the right would just find other things to hate him for

 

Be careful. Some here will call you a fraud if you do that because they think moderate beliefs are just right (or left) wing based on their own bias and your inability to toe their line.

It's why I was literally once called a bigot and a RINO in the same thread by two posters on opposite sides when discussing bathrooms years back.

If her nomination meant getting certain folks to suddenly champion the benefits of diversity and breaking glass ceilings, it would be interesting on the other side as well given many argue that we're not supposed to care about sex, race, or ethnicity.

In all seriousness, I haven't followed her very closely. But she's a two-term governor and UN Ambassador, which is an objectively impressive resume.

2. Why would Independent Trump hating voters like me will hate her for that? That seems odd? I hope she burns him to the ground and his political ashes are blown of the Mar-a-lago shore and sink to the bottom of the ocean to be crushed by the dark abyss.

Being a true moderate is fine and probably ideal. I pushed back on his post because he claimed he had a winning strategy by hating on both parties. It just seemed too hands off for my taste. As usual, you make a good point though.

So your previous post shows why you won’t vote for Nikki. I didn’t see how you made the same conclusion, one that Tilly just pointed out for you, to the left candidates.
