    SEC Honor Roll:

A league high 14 Gators, 74% of the team, made the SEC Honor Roll.

I think the only ones who didn’t make the Honor Roll weren’t here last year - the freshmen and Selena.

Accolades, as deserving as they are, are sometimes the product of a narrative. Like it's always written as scholar/athlete, not athlete/scholar. For comparative context. The SEC Honor Role and UF Dean's list are almost a full letter grade different. As an aside, I always thought a better axiom was "figures can lie, and liars can figure". Most notably in the corporate world.

Just give the SEC Honor Roll gymnasts their rightful recognition for what they have achieved. Whatever the scale for the UF general student population compared to what the SEC uses is comparing apples and oranges.

Apples to apples is showing how the UF gymnastics team has done compared to the other 8 SEC gymnastics teams. Per normal, UF is #1.

We don't yet know how many of the 14 made the UF's Dean's List, likely will be released soon if not already. There will be some crossovers. Bri Edwards just got accepted into medical school. Leanne Wong is usually on the list. I suspect there will be more.

Your quote is applicable for the corporate world, not gymnastics. Judges are liars and liars are judges is more appropriate. :)

Found this story by Mary Howard in Gymnastic News on floridagators.com:

Gators Place 14 on SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll - Florida Gators

Apparently, you have to be a sophomore and have to completed one full academic year to qualify to be on the SEC Honor Roll list. That means none of 4 freshmen and Selena qualified to be on the list:

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – An all-time high 14 Gator gymnasts earn a spot on the 2025 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, announced today by league commissioner Greg Sankey.

For the fifth time in the last six seasons, the Gators saw all gymnasts eligible earn a spot on the 2025 SEC Academic Honor Roll. Student-athletes must be a sophomore or complete a full academic year at the institution to be included in the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

    • Senior Brianna Edwards receives a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship as a nominee for the SEC's Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship, which she'll put to use this summer when she begins studies at UF's Medical School.
    • Sophomore Kayla DiCello turned in a 4.0 grade point average.

More academic accolades for Gators gymnastics are expected when the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll is released in the summer.

regarding Amelia, I heard she had surgery a while back (like almost a year) but I’m hearing she’s healthy now and is planning on competing the elite season. Her skills look incredible if you look at her instagram.

Thanks, very happy to hear she is healthy. I knew there had to be something. Amelia looked amazing before she dropped off the map. Last year in August, she only competed on one event at US Nationals. She is capable of being an all arounder, 3 events at least.
