It will be interesting to see how Oklahoma does in this pressure cooker before NCAAs. This will be a new experience for them. KJ does know how to get a team ready but they are not invincible, especially without the preferential scoring they usually receive at NCAAs. UF needs to be consistent and avoid large errors that have plagued the team this year. I am concerned about Riley in the bars lineup, but otherwise feel like the lineups are set and capable. I think how Anya goes the team goes. If she performs like she is capable early in the lineups things should look good. Leanne, Selena, and Victoria need to lead the way with high scores. They all have the goods and know how to stick. I think 20 is too large a roster for NCAAs. Just my opinion. Most teams regularly rotate 10 or so, and maybe with 5 injuries you would get a max of 15. You don't want to regularly leave athletes out of competing especially with the caliber of what UF is getting. To me, the bests teams have a good mix of Level 10 superstars and Elite. We need Ferris, Clark, Bruce, Arana, Pilgrim to max out what they can do because they are not as beat up as the Elites. If you go back in time, some of our very best gymnasts (e.g., Alaina Johnson, Alex McMurtry) were Elite caliber who dropped down to Level 10 before college like Pilgrim did. That is what we need more of.
I think 20 is just perfect. It allows for gymnasts leaving the program each year and to have the flexibility to develop talent that isn't quite ready for prime time. Last year, I was one of the few, maybe the only person, to pick LSU as the national champion in the 2024 preseason. I made that prediction based on LSU's unique combination of depth, experience, and talent. Oklahoma does take the approach you think is best, but they crashed and burned in the 2024 NCAA semifinal. The SEC tournament is every bit as good as NCAA finals. Even you question the Sooners holding up to the pressure cooker of the SECs plus I'll add the NCAA nationals to that as well. While Oklahoma has top gymnasts that are as good or better than anyone in the nation, I picked them to finish 3rd in 2025 based on thinner depth than both LSU and UF. We'll see how that holds up. This year, I picked it 1 Florida, 2 LSU, and 3 Oklahoma. To say the least, it's going to be interesting and exciting to watch. I ordered my ESPN+ yesterday so I'm ready to start with the NCAA regionals. I got the bonus of being able to watch UF softball last night to boot. One month will set me back $13.61 including tax/fees, but it's worth it for one month out of the year to be able to watch the NCAA regionals plus a few other UF sports shown on ESPN+.
As reposted by Dr. Sam, Jayla Hang UF Recruiting Class 2026: Just one of our jewels in the 2026 recruiting class.
The national championships of the SEC are today: It will be every bit as exciting as the national championship meet. The evening session at 8 PM ET features teams 1,2, 3, and 7 in the nation. The afternoon session at 3:30 PM ET is good too with teams 8, 10, 12, and 13 in the nation. The best and deepest conference in the nation will be on display on the SEC Network. The only SEC team missing is 16 Arkansas. I do hope the SEC changes the rule on teams qualifying moving forward. Go Gators!
how would you divide 9 teams up?5 in 2 session,4 in another ,a 5 team rotation allows for rest a 4 team would not have.have teams 8 and 9 compete the day beforr, again now extra wear on the athletes, imo if you are number9 in the rankings too bad .
If we can keep pace with LSU in this last rotation we win! And we got screwed a few times IMO. and LSU is getting some bad benefits.
Beam was scored way too low for some of our girls.. Check out the score cards for these judges..unbelievable
Again this team is a few errors away. Leanne missing a leap connection on beam is maddening. I really wanted to beat Oklahoma. At least they didn’t win. We are right there. We need to find a way not to start or finish on beam. Beam was tightly scored for everyone. One or two hit vaults and Leanne not making that error and we win. Uugghh.
That missed connection scored a 9.6...I thought Selena's score was too low..and that Victoria's should have been a bit higher
Too bad. Going into the final rotation, the Gators had the lead and ended up finishing 3rd. I'm watching basketball, but have kept up with the stats. Taped to watch another day. Gators had some great performances tonight, but couldn't maintain the high level consistency through the 4th rotation. Get 'em in the NCAA's.
Two UF scores I thought were too low were Leanne on floor and Selena on beam. Stick more than 2 of 6 vaults along with Leanne not missing beam connection and it's UF winning the tourney. The good news is UF can improve. Also, OU did not win and should have finished 3rd.

Alabama and Minnesota will probably switch places, meaning Florida will end up in the Tuscaloosa Regional. The other three Regionals are Utah, Penn St and Washington.

Great weekend in the SEC and the nation. Oklahoma did not win the SEC Tournament Championship and did not finish #1 in the final NQS. The NCAA championship is wide open, and no one is pre-NCAAs crowning the Sooners, well maybe College Gym News when they get around to their picks. I LOL! at CGN for saying Oklahoma was the "clear cut" favorite to win the SEC tourney. The NCAA selection show is on Monday at 12:00 PM ET. Should be interesting to see how the committee resolves the few conflicts due to hosting.
Bama finishing 5th was the first time in their gymnastics history that they didn't finish in the top 4 of the SEC tournament championships. To me, UGALY has been overachievers in 2025. Finishing last in the SECs was about what I expected coming into the season. UK looked nothing like they did a week ago in Gainesville. It just goes to show how high teams get when facing the Gators. AU had some top senior gymnasts do a poor job.
