DeSantis got a billion dollars of fed money and distributed $34.5 million. What happened to the other $965.5 million?

Per kid if you qualify financially. If you have 8 or 9 kids it will.

There’s that Reedy Creek takeover. And posting law enforcement at the Texas border. You know, all those important issues facing Florida.

worse, he actually opposed the funding and then goes around the state trying to take credit for it. sadly, most will not realize that if it was his choice, they wouldn't be getting squat

Sounds like a Republican. Drag the Democrats for spending the money while claiming the credit for what that money buys.

If we’re being honest, it was for only 60,000 families. That isn’t really a big deal so hopefully these people really needed the help.

Why such a small number of families though? And how were these families chosen? Surely family number 60,001 could use the the help too. It doesn't make much sense. Is it just a publicity stunt?

Probably valid questions. I think the one thing people know about politicians is they ostensibly will say/do anything to stay in office.

$35.5M at $450 per kid is about 78,900 kids. Being given to unemployed, underemployed and low income families. I have one employee with 9 kids (just started 2 months ago) and hope he gets it as he could really use it. I do what I can when he asks for help with his utility bills this summer and know he's really struggling to make ends meet.

Good on you for helping. I get that many pregnancies are not planned, but it's beyond me why someone in that financial position would choose to have that many kids.

It's a Brady Bunch situation. Hers, his and theirs. Agree with the planning part though. Sometimes you have to quite while you're behind.
