Crap I had to attend a funeral today and missed the game. Watching the replay is freaking great knowing we pulled this one out. One more game and we are bowling with a team that will stay together and actually show up.#Proudofourkids
Don't know, don't care. The only thing worse than your typical "dumb" football fan, is a dumb fan who thinks he knows more than everyone else, and cherry picks "advanced" stats to try and prove his lame points. And then when you throw logic and context in their face, they double down and tell everyone who disagrees to "educate themselves" lol. That dude is a clown and pretty much everything he's ever said has been proven incorrect.
Credit to Billy for evaluating and getting Mertz. Further credit for improving the offense from what we saw earlier in the season.
And if you see them again, please tell them Gators want to thank them for giving us QB Graham Mertz! !
too bad Andy Jean was hurt and didn’t play, but the te usage help us tear up the straight up the middle passing and moved the chains. Both TE’s looked good. Zone defenses take that!
I’m impressed with his moxy certainly, but Ricky and Trey saved him. I love that we threw long balls finally but I do have more respect for CBN after I realized that GM really can’t throw very far. Overthrows (AR did this with wrist flicks) scare defenses, but UGA D is watching a tale where we simply can’t throw over 40 yards.
He's the guy that not many NFL scouts will even bother to know... his bad decision making. Can't even pass basket weaving.
Mertz showed some guts and heart this game. I hope he’s healing his body in an ice bath right now. Must protect him better against the mutts.
I think the he is in the moment and the moment includes all those things including stuff coming from his headset…analytics, other coaches in the sky, replays, etc.
Not only does Mertz deserve the accolades as he’s shown to be the best QB for this team and better than many other portal QB high on everyone’s list last year, but CBN and staff deserve credit for seeing what none of us saw in him. Not gonna do the crying TO speech, but I’m glad he’s our QB.
That's him at his best and seen even at Wisconsin. It's a shame we can't give him more time to operate. We have fierce D lines ahead and are going to have to get creative to compensate.
Heart..... it's a equalizer in this game. The RB Anderson had tons of it last night also, but Mr Mertz was big time. Avoiding pressure, making big throws while getting blown up, or after getting blown up. That TD pass to Pearsall was magical. Tough young man
The leadership side is something you really can't measure. I wasn't wowed by the xfer, figured he would just hand off to 2 & 7... but I'm happy to be corrected.
Mertz has plenty of arm. This is silly. He has overthrown many deep routes. In my opinion he was trying to guide the ball too much yesterday trying too hard to compensate for the long misses. He has plenty of arm.
