Perhaps if the gop puts someone forward who is not part of the tantrum caucus there might be a chance of getting that person across the line so we have a functioning house again. If this plays itself out, the government shutdown happens, the economy begins to tank, and the government cannot attend to the people's business. While I get the partisan concerns, the burn it all down crowd has a R after their name.

I can see them expanding the power of the speaker pro tem until the end of the year to enable them to pass some support for Israel and Ukraine.

I think there would be enough moderates on both parties to do this.

Let the house freeze to paralysis.

Seems the only way these drunken sailors cam keep from debt spending us into USSR status, is if they can't agree on a speaker.

    HOORAY PARALYSIS!!!

Btw...Joe Biden pledged $100 Million to Hamas. Reward for raping Jewish women, lopping off baby Jews" heads off, stealing Jews, and killing >1,000 Jews.

Musta bin a bonus for breaking 4 digits.

    GO HAMAS!!!

(Perhaps if the HR remains paralyzed...maybe those 100 Mil doesn't get approved).

Good grief, 92. I'm nearly speechless about just how disingenuous (and detached from reality) your claim is.

No where does it say that he pledged $100 million for Hamas. From your own linked article.
The White House has announced a significant injection of humanitarian aid for Gaza and the West Bank as fighting between Israel and Hamas continues. President Joe Biden, fresh off a wartime visit to Tel Aviv, pledged $100 million in humanitarian assistance to support millions of displaced people as clean water and food supplies dwindle. The funds will be provided through U.S. partners that include United Nations agencies and international non-governmental organizations that the U.S. considers to be "trusted."

Maybe it's just me but providing assistance to displaced people through UN agencies and NGOs is not remotely equivalent to providing assistance to a terrorist organization.

@OklahomaGator this crap is allowed on here? This is disgusting. I am a Jew and this is unacceptable rhetoric. We, the children of Abraham, need to find common ground. People like the above use the plight of our peoples to further their own political agenda. I don't understand this post. Shameful.

It was very much TIC/ sarcastic.

I was mocking the callousness of the American Palestinians who celebrated Hamas' atrocity as heroic.... very much questioning Biden's sincerity, as he appears to be trying to appease Talib et. Al., and the Am. Palestinian protestors.

No offense intended to Jews or Israel.

    You new around here?

It was from an article that you linked in another thread. I guess you would consider US donations to organizations like UNICEF, the World Food Program, the World Health Organization or the International Red Cross to name a few of the agencies that could potentially receive the funds the equivalent of providing funds to Hamas.

I don't Trust Biden as far as I could throw a truck. I don't see how that money doesn't get into Hamas' hands, if it gets into Gaza. ...and I think it's a horribly counter productive message.

My post, callous as it may seem, imo, is exactly what the Islamic world inferred by the pronouncement.

Perhaps. But let's be clear here--the hatred which may consume me is directed at terrorists, not Jews or Israelis.

That would lead to a government shutdown and service members would stop receiving paychecks. I'm sure that's not what you're rooting for

If it serves to get our drunken sailor congress to exercise some fiscal responsibility, it might be worth a little short term pain, while it's fixable--rather than continue on a suicide trajectory until we crash, and it's no longer even remotely fixable.

What do you propose to reign in out of control debt spending?

GOP went from TEA party to Trump to, trying all kinds of crazy shit to stop this crazy train. What have yall done? Not even SOSDD-- yall continue to veer further Left, further big Gov, more and more spending. Based on what they campaign on, and how they govern.

We can't know they're going to govern dift than they campaign until they get there--which has happened way more than not, which is how we got Trump to begin with
