I know, but did the Founding Fathers invent the position just for that? They could have just said the line of succession will be the House's most popular member. It would be easy to have a popularity contest. They sure aren't having one now. Is Jordan too dumb to understand that his colleagues don't like him? His consolation should be that at least he's more likeable (in a detestable sort of way) than Matt Gaetz.

Part of the reason the maga folks were in favor of making Trump the speaker.

Given Jordan's wrestling background, I would like to see the speakership determined by a wrestling match between Jordan and Matt Gaetz. It would be worth having Jordan as speaker just to see him beat the crap out of Gaetz. (And if Jordan should need any help, Kevin McCarthy could be referee.)

All 3 Zeldin votes were from other NY Republicans. Trying to figure out why they'd vote for a former Rep

We haven't had any semblance of government the whole year unless you want to count Hunter Biden investigations

Lol So the one party that had all of the votes in its possession to keep McCarthy isn't responsible?

Gaetz, a Republican, isn't responsible by officially filing the motion in the first place?

Do you believe pubs would have voted for Pelosi if she were McCarthy in this same situation?

Dems voted for who they wanted by casting all 212 votes for Jefferies. None of them voted for an alternate Republican. Republicans did that. Why didn't pubs cross over to vote with Dems to elect Jefferies?

It’s on both. They need to govern for Country, not Party.

The gop could just as easily take Jeffries over the 218, yet they don't.
Do it's the dems fault because they won't just get in line and support the insurrectionist/tantrum caucus Jordan for speaker?

I think that neither party will vote for someone who is best for the job. The Dems total unified position of Jeffries only proves they are voting party only. The fact that not a single Pub voted for Jeffries is equally condemning on the same point. I think our party system have decayed to unworkable.
