I see a pattern

 

Paraphrasing what a number of commentators have said, although Donald Trump cannot name the next speaker he does have the power to veto the election of the any candidate for the Speakership that has failed to meet the most important litmus test of Trump world, voting not to certify the results of the 2020 election. Conversely at least some of the Republican House members representing districts won by Biden will not vote for any candidate that meets that litmus test.

Who knew the only thing needed to elect a speaker was to nominate a candidate who wants to pass a national abortion ban in addition to being an election denier/electoral college de-certifier?

 

Are they now going to change the rule which allows one person to try to recall the Speaker?
