Vivek’s wrap up was so bizarre. Appealed to Dems to tell him who is really running the country and who will be the Dem candidate. Total freak.
Despite Vivek’s NBC bashing to open the debate, that was far and away the best run of the GOP debates so far. They were much more willing than the Fox folks to tell people to shut up and stop trying to interject themselves (and not having Burgum and Pence trying to dominate the speaking time despite both being irrelevant candidates certainly helped as well).
You ever heard of an obscure and hard to find thing called the 1st Amendment? I’ve been told that it comes before the 2nd Amendment but nobody really knows. Apparently, it says this: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
I have no idea. Those most vocal about being Christian seem to hate the idea of the United States being a democracy.
2nd Amendment - A guaranteed right, never to be questioned or limited in any way, shape, or fashion All other Amendments - meh
When Vivek called out "Dick Cheney in three inch heels," was he attacking Nikki Haley or Ron DeSantis?
He threw in DeSantis as the crowd was reacting to what he said about Haley, so I think some people missed it. He was clearly calling Haley a female warmonger (is that better or worse than a male one?), but he must know that she has lines about her heels. Seems like DeSantis was Vivek's primary target there and Vivek messed up the timing of the punch line a bit. I felt like DeSantis and Haley were smart to mostly ignore Vivek as much as possible.
I say this only half-heartedly given how unpopular Christie is in the GOP. But he reportedly really wanted to be Trump's VP. I wonder if he'd be willing to serve as VP for Haley if she were the nominee? I'm not sure if they're actually far apart on policy and think many independents/moderates would see that as a very strong ticket.
