It took everything in me to stick around for this one.

    Anyway, typing as I listen….

Another tale of two halves for us. Obviously not good enough first half .. that’s the understatement of the year. We were way more aggressive and fearless in the second half, even though not very efficient. But we hit some big shots. But you can’t dig that type of hole and expect to win.

At half I had felt we did alright holding them to 23 points. I was praising them for staying course with our defense. We we’re still in game despite shooting 2-26… only down 11. We responded to cut onto lead and showed fight. But again… if you want to beat a team like this on the road, you can’t create that deficit to overcome.

The difference in the second half was mindset. We were trying to execute in the first half, but we were tentative. We were aggressive in the second and were not afraid to fail.

On that last play, we wanted to get Colin over to top. He ended up with guard on him. We wanted a better look than that, but credit to MJ for getting up there.

The words "Typing as I listen..." is always good therapy for me win or lose my friend. I personally appreciate it.

Oh and interesting we wanted CC on the last play. It's interesting though how Mike W had amazing out of bound plays and Golden not so much.

Thanks for taking one for the team, Brent ;). What happened to Reeves tonight? We need him to play better.

I was going to say the same thing and it seems to happen in too many games. He takes a lot of rushed shots and seems to be out of control too often. Not sure what to think of him right now.

I’m hoping we see them come out aggressively to begin with next game.

Hopefully that mindset can carry forward.

Yeah, the slow starts are killing us! It’s a pattern that has to change.

Has to be the worst shooting performance in a half in the history of Florida basketball?
    First Half
    Field goals: 2-26
    3Pt: 1-11
    Free throws - 7-10

Really trying to find the shot chart to see all the shots missed.

Right- there's no way this is anything but mental.
I would imagine this is the lowest FG % ever. Maybe in the no shot clock era we had a similar point total.

So how could we score 40+ points in the 2nd half then?
    It's getting ridiculous.
This team could be a great one if they would just come to play for all 40 minutes.

We had two empty possessions about 3 minutes left where we had stopped them. Those really hurt our chances with all things considered.

He seems to play defense and moves without the ball when he feels like it. He takes care of his hair though...

And how many missed layups? The Kugel one in the first half was simply mind blowing.
I know everyone is focused on the last play, but if Kugel simply makes an easy layup, perhaps it is TAMU who is taking the last pressure-packed shot.

Reeves is athletic, quick, and has a good jumper. I’ve watched him; he plays hard and does not loaf. But, he gets himself out of control sometimes and gets mistake prone. Last night he was a mess. He really was a liability last night. I know he gets coached up a lot - just think he needs to play to his strengths and within himself. When he freelances and tries to be MJ, it can be a turnover, bad shot, bad pass, sloppy play…

Exactly right. You cannot have any shot that easy on the court. It’s like missing a one foot putt.
