Can't really argue with much except to point out it's way too early in the game to be making final judgments.

Not that you were. Just many in the OGTs seem to think basketball games are over by the under-12:00 TV timeout.

Specifically, not sure we can say Florida "downgraded from MW" unless you mean by experience in the SEC or at a P5 school.

After a whopping 14 games, unless 0-14 or 1-13, nobody can extrapolate a coach's career trajectory or performance in any league. Coach Golden is off to a slower start than Coach Donovan but I just think it's too early to write an ending.

As far as different line-ups . . . many of us are wondering that.

Personally, I also wonder why he isn't applying the defensive intensity from the start of Q3 Wednesday all game with as many players he has available. I think that jumpstarts an offense too.

I was hoping he could get off to a better start as well. Wasn't expecting this to be a NCAA tourney team, but was hoping we'd be average or a little above that.

If it doesn't turn around soon, it will wind up as a historically bad season.

Yes, we should play with urgency from the opening tip.

But we did NOT "wait until the 2nd half" before deciding to play hard. We got going midway in the 1st half.

Points scored and points allowed are what analytics measure. What are you talking about?

That is what analytics are ultimately about. Points get generated by shot attempts so steals and rebounds are inportant stats. Generating shots for your teammates are really important and preventing shots, like from steals, are also important.

I am trying to figure out what he does that can't be measured by analytics that leads to victory. Does he goad star players into technical fouls?

I think he is referring to players like a Draymond Green with the Warriors. May not score a lot of points, but D, passing, rebounding and Court awareness help team to victory. Dennis Rodman and Bruce Bowens were similar type players where analytics did not tell the entire story.

Everything you mention have stats, but not maybe in a box score. Under Donovan we kept track of deflections, for example. A deflection that does not result in a steal does eat up shot clock and it can result in an inbounds play where you get to set your defense.

Now Draymon Green does intimidate players with a threat of violence and maybe that is not in the analytics.

    You are correct.
