Actually, Florida did much better in the 2nd half - outscoring Alabama 46-45. Too bad that this team can't get off to better starts in the first half. The game was essentially over by halftime: UF-23, AL-52.
Ok.. here we go Typing as I listen… They’re really good on both sides —top 20 offensive and top 5 defensive team. We knew it would be tough game on the end of four game stretch, with tightened rotations with injuries. Obviously we are not happy with first half but we were resilient in second half. But again- we aren’t happy with the result. We knew we had to get one of these four.. and we got that against UT. And now we return home. This is about flushing this one tonite. Not a ton we can take away. We have to get back healthy and fresh and be ready for vandy. Colin has become a great leader and very tough. Great stats guy but is really team first. He has always been great numbers but has become a much better winner this year. Riley has been great- that maturation has been fantastic, and what we want to see from a young player. He has taken on a defensive work load, often defending the best perimeter player, and his offense is taking off.
It's something that isn't clicking in those pregame warm-ups or speeches. It's happened too much this season.
Thanks for doing this..hope you know I was kidding with you when I said "I thought you left " when you posted again after you posted you were leaving..lol
It’s true, but yeah…coach can’t say that message board fodder lol. Plus we needed that UT win to keep hope alive. In reality, we needed to steal another to really get back in good shape. Now they need a really strong finish. Must win out at home and pick off some road games too. Obviously Bama just outclassed us in all facets, but would have been nice to pick off UK since that was gettable. Now the home game with UK is 100% must win assuming we can even take care of business elsewhere. Any slip ups to bubble teams or consecutive losses of any kind officially dooms us to NIT.
Why? I think it's a bad comment if he said it before the four game gauntlet, but not so much after. Honestly, how many people thought we would win one? When we started the stretch, three of those teams were in the top five. The other was @UK. Thank goodness it's over. Now let's see how they bounce back. Gotta shake it off and take care of business against Vandy. I said it multiple times now: If we win one of those four, there is a pathway to 11 SEC wins. They really really really really gotta shoot better.
The season isn’t over, and we will play at least one… if not each of these SEC teams again. Making a comment that even implies a goal of going 1-for-4 … eh, I don’t like it. And so, I guess we mostly agree. If he is gonna say it, say it after. But for me, after the season.
Golden letting Appleby get away was inexcusable. Keyonte I understand. The mid major transfers didn't work. Alabama, with zero basketball tradition, smoked us. The season is now over. Golden has not earned his salary.
They are able to play looser with a big deficit, and it’s hard for a team up big to keep up the same intensity.
he didn’t “let” him get away, he got away on his own after his coach left.. he was also a mid-major transfer btw
Well, yeah, but those freshman will go in the first round after the season is over, and Brandon Miller will be a lottery pick.
