Every time I hear Golden talk, I like him more and more. I've been a Gator bball fan from the 1st Sloan era in the 60's all the way through to today. Golden is by far the most fun to listen to guy we've ever had. Hopefully, his teams will be as fun to watch as he is to listen to.

I have said that I treat coaching hires as probability exercises - you go for what looks good on paper and then maybe 1 in 3 work out, so there’s no sense getting emotionally invested.
But of all the UF hires of the last 20 years or so, it’s basically this guy and Urban that I have been emotionally invested in from day 1. He just never puts a wrong foot forward and seems to get it on every level. I am genuinely excited about what he can be, even if there’s a learning curve for him.

His introductory press conference was a clinic in introductory press conferences. I'm looking forward to basketball season.

He does sound like he is a quality hire. Too bad we had to get rid of White in order to give him a shot. Mike was going to get us a Final Four appearance or three if we had just held on for another 6 years or so. We are just too ADD when it comes to success in basketball. All we had to do was watch intently how he FINALLY gets all the pieces to fit together. My guess if we had waited, Egbunu would have re-signed to be the 3rd string center. I hear he is going to be ready by January.

You just have to survive the off-season the best you can.
