Pullin was 2 for 2 on 3-pointers . . . . - a 40-footer to take the lead at halftime - a dagger 3 to send the game into a 2nd OT Wow!!!
Great pull out for the win! Still, I think I’m worried about our free-throw shooting. Sooner later is gonna cost us a game. Go gators!
That game doesn't go to OT if UF was at least mediocre at the line. Doesn't seem to be getting any better and I agree this will be costly. Great win, though. Thought we were cooked. Screw Michigan in any form.
We got it together in the second half after giving up 24 points in the first 8 minutes. We could have folded at that point, but showed a lot of grit
these guys showed a lot of heart tonight staying in this one and then finishing strong at the end. Really happy to get this win
Our deep bench allowed us to stay fresh while they got completely exhausted there at the end and folded. Huge difference in the game.
PS…Condon is our best center.[/QUOTE] This. Totally this. Was having flashbacks to 2004 to Horford and Noah. Condon reminds me of both of them. I see flashes of Noah's defensive playmaking in him all the time, but he's just smooth like Big Al too. Also, if memory serves me correctly, Cliff Richard was originally the starter on that team, then sometime in the nonconference schedule the freshman Horford eventually beat him out for the job. I think what Micah does is great from a rim protection and rebounding point-but Condon has more offensive upside, and his lateral movement defensively (perhaps from playing those Aussie sports) is superior to Micah's which allows him to match up much better on guards and wings.
I think we keep Micah in the starting lineup, with Condon supplying spark off the bench while progressively playing starter minutes. More importantly, what do we do with Kugel given his funk over the last three games? That decision also involves both Clayton and Pullin. We are clearly a better team with Pullin at the point and Clayton playing off the ball. I wonder if there is consideration for Kugel being the sixth man?
It seems that our best lineup is Pullin, Clayton, Richard, Samuel, and Condon. As much as Kugel would hate it, I think it would be good for Kugel to get experience being “the guy” to run our second team and get used to the responsibility. It might make him more ready to rejoin the starting lineup.
First off, great game. I'm mentally exhausted. But yeah I would really love to see this lineup start beginning immediately.
Hmmmmm Interesting idea - I agree that if we’re dreaming of a deep tournament run , keeping Riley engaged, and figuring out how he best fits with our personnel/ scheme is key. He looks a little lost now , but can he can contribute in very important ways
