We have to get out of that defense. Should go Bear front as we have to stop run but more importantly AA has to bring pressure. We are giving qb’s way too much time and pockets are too clean.

Georgia is unpredictable. When they want to play a complete game, they are unstoppable, as evident to the Kentucky game. It seems they just want to breeze through to the playoffs like they are bored playing the slate of regular season games. True, the SEC is quite boring this year.

I'm not sure if they are or are not "impervious", but I know for sure that they aren't impecunious.

That 3 man front worked late I thought. I need to watch the replay.

Technique wise we are a poor blitzing team. The blitzers run into blockers. Pass rush lanes are getting moved by oline and it doesnt look like our front demands double-teams bc we arent quick footed we tend to bull rush with 2nd move and this doesnt free up a blitzer bc of oline assignment breakdown

We are still weak wrt muscle development and size which means we dont play with leverage while running with our LBs and safeties

Time heals all ills and the next several years will pay dividends wrt incoming players (LBs especially) and physical development of those already here.

No doubt the dawgs will have a solid game plan for Florida and this young team will have all (and more most likely) than they can handle. But the development is definitely starting to show. Once these defensive players mature and have more guys this team will be formidable. Even with the growing pains there have been some fun moments, especially last night. Mertz balled, really felt like he stopped trying to be a game manager and just played some football.

We usually play UGA pretty tough. Also, Bennett probably had a couple of his worst games against us. Hopefully that trend will continue with Beck and we have some sort of "chance" to get the upset.

The poodles will lose to one of Mizzou, Old Miss or LSU in the SECCG.

I thought AA put an extra LB in and brought pressure from different spots. That could have just been the play I focused on in-between OGT posts though.

i an unsure when it started, but it caught my eye that we had a spy on Rattler near the end.

I hope they lose to somebody, anybody. I don’t know that I could bear Kirby winning three state and being talked about as the best coach of the modern era.

AA definitely adapted. I saw that too and thought “ this guy is making in game adjustments”!!! Good stuff.

AA is a smart young guy. He will make the adjustments necessary. Him spying Rattler late in the game, and at least trying to bring an extra guy shows me that he can make in game adjustments. I have no doubt in his film study. He is teaching, and will be continuing to reiterate the importance of taking better angles when blitzing.
Georgia will be fun for sure. I think our mighty Gators showed us yesterday they have true grit and “Won’t Back Down”!!!

Ask Mertz about our offensive line blocking. He will be running for his life against Ga. Plus we won't be able to run against them. Hell, we couldn't run against USC.
But the game will be a great experience for our young team. At least now,Ga. realizes we are not an instant win.

That may not be all AA’s doing. Napier announced in his opening presser that the 3-3-5 would be the base D. Its just a very poor run D without 3 stud down linemen and good run D LB’s. I can see giving it a try against a poor running team like SC, but KY…headscratcher.

We had one 3-3 set-piece where he ran the first 3 then delayed a 3 man blitz and that worked, so it might not be only about the scheme but the assignments in that scheme that matter the most.

One thing is for sure just rushing 3 men in that 3-3 scheme never seems to work... you have to rush more than just 3.
