Manny Diaz the long time Georgia men’s tennis coach was being honored this past weekend for 36 successful years as the head man at Georgia. With a packed stadium in Athens Sunday afternoon, Florida beat his Bulldogs 4-2. It was a beautiful thing! Manny’s retirement gift from us will always be a loss to his hated rivals on his last regular season home match. I couldn’t have scripted it any better!
Looks like it was going to be 5-2....and that's after losing the doubles point. This isn't a great UGA team, but still a huge road win for a young team that needed it after the heartbreaker loss to MSU. Getting Ganesan back was huge, allowing guys to move down a spot and thrive. Need to finish the season strong and position themselves for postseason Women had a nice win on Friday and then survived playing pretty poorly on Sunday with a 4-3 win vs Ole Miss that eaily could have been a disastrous loss. Dahlstrom didn't play his weekend and Sophie Williams at 6 won't win any matches vs good teams. Emily De Oliviera hasn't played in weeks, started the season at the top of the lineup after a great fall, but seems to have arm issues. Have to guess she may be out for the year it's been so long since she played Tough year healthwise for men and women have hurt their seasons
