That ranking looks as good as any, but I don't have any problem with the way the things set up right now. This season has proven that. This season has proven that there will probably be shakeups in this playoffs and some surprises.
Its interesting though that the computer polls were continually tweaking their formulas that mysteriously seemed to favor the better teams in their region, or where the computer poll creator graduated from. Yes, bias existed even in that format.
In the 4 team BCS teams days the 5th team left out could reasonably have a gripe. With 12 teams, no sympathy at all - they lost games they should have won. Thats true of Bama and Miami.
Anyone but uga. I don't want to see the vols win it either. I'm over the sec sec thing, so.... Go Ducks.
It's always been garbage in, garbage out with computers. I could create a program that would make UF the number one seed depending on what I deemed important. 5-1 with DJ as the starting QB with the only loss happening in a game where we were leading when he got hurt would be a strong data point.
SMU will be a sacrificial lamb in this just like fsu would have been last season and TCU was the season before.... Alabama would have at least had a chance.
I gave you an agree, but I think USCe has a legit gripe over not getting in vs. SMU. I'm not sure which game USCe lost that they should have won. The lost a very close one to LSU tho did get blown out by Ole Miss. Neither are mediocre teams such as OU or Syracuse/ GT. Further, USCe beat some good teams- Clemson, TAMU, Mizzou, Vandy. Not a murderer's row, but which hard team did SMU beat... Louisville or TCU are their best wins I guess. Neither are ranked.
Screw Bama - glad they’re not in it. Now let’s enjoy watching their fans waving their pitchforks and screaming for DeBoer’s head
At least UGA earned something of a favorable draw by winning the SEC. I'd argue Penn St has an even easier draw to the semi's, and they didn't really earn it.
Dilfer won by playing within the system and not hurting the team. The UGA situation needs Beck to make plays. He has proven at time to be a liability that does indeed hurt the team.
OP, that's the way it goes. Live with it. Had we or one other team beaten them, they wouldn't be in the playoffs.
