I'm GenX and personally hate talking on the phone. I want to just get to the point without the chit chat.

My kids get it from me.

My wife on the other hand... lol.

    Oh its a thing everywhere.

Signed, The dad of a 13 year old boy.

    P.S.
My 17 and 19 year old daughters are that way with the old school Adidas type stuff too.

At least I know they are taking care of their shoes right? :D

It’s amusing seeing all these youngsters nowadays who have a closet full of Air Jordans…most of them probably couldn’t even tell you what Michael Jordan looks like.

Coincidentally, I heard that the top of Gen Z's most dreaded list is similar to Gen Y (Millennials): having to listen to perpetually aggrieved boomers tell them how lazy/entitled/sensitive they are.

YouTube is the key. My son loves to watch Kobe and MJ highlights. It's different than when we were kids they have access.

True. Some sneakerhead kids tried to school me on what year Jordan wore certain sneakers, I’m like “Dude you were born in the 2000s, you never even saw him play. I know what year he wore them because I was actually watching him play while he wore them.”

Pretty sure it's a copout or laziness thing with GenZ, not a phobia. My 15yo daughter is allergic to talking on the phone for pretty much everyone except me. I told very her early on that if she was going to ask me to do something for her or give her something, she'd better call because I won't answer it in text. And that if I call she'd better pick it up. Everyone else, she ignores calls and chooses to text.

My millennial daughter is the opposite. She calls us via FaceTime with no warning. The wife isn't always mindful enough to put down the vape pen before she accepts the call, which is a heads up for my daughter about how the call is going to go.

It seems most people these days are averse to phone calls, not just the younger crowd.

I don't disagree (probably because of the vast amount of spam calls), but it's far more prevalent with the younger crowd.

Mine always answer. They feel the vibration from their surgically attached device. Mine always answer me, but even then I mostly text. I can talk to them face to face at home.
