Remember Musk and WH claim about $50M for condoms for Gaza...proclaimed as an iron clad fact.

reminscent of Rudy's press conference at Four Seasons landscaping, Musk and the WH seemed to have confused the Gaza in the ME to the Gaza in Africa.

The one in Africa is at the epicenter of some of the worst aids problems in the world. Most economical way to treat aids is to stop them from getting it, ie free condoms. much cheaper than retroviral once infected

MAGA - how can you continue to believe anything they tell you? There was no USAID money going to Gaza ME for condoms

The US spent millions on STD prevention in Gaza. But it was a province in Mozambique | Middle East Eye

In a press conference on Wednesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that one of those unnecessary programmes included sending $50m worth of condoms and contraceptives to Gaza, where, for the past 15 months, Israel has waged a full-scale war and limited all aid entering the Palestinian enclave.

Leavitt said the $50m was located by the Department of Government Efficiency, a new task force created by Trump and led by billionaire Elon Musk. "We identified and stopped $50m being sent to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas," Trump said on Wednesday. "They used them as a method of making bombs. How about that?"
    ...........................
The claim from the Trump administration drew widespread confusion and scepticism until, on Thursday, an account on X found there was a US grant worth $83m that was directed towards the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases in Gaza. However, the Gaza referenced in the grant description wasn't in the occupied Palestinian territories.

It was referring to a province in Mozambique.
Gaza is a rural province in the African nation and is the country's least populated, with an estimated population of just over one million people.
    ....................
USAid reports for the years between 2007 and 2023 do not show any records of condoms being shipped to the Gaza Strip. And Dana Stroul, a former Pentagon official, said on X that USAid didn't spend any money on the Gaza Strip in 2023.

MAGA doesn't mind being publicly lied to. They even repeat the lies. It's truly fascinating.

Too bad they never come back and admit it was all just lies.

    So it is. Murica.

They're incredibly gullible. To Trump's MAGA followers alternative facts are real facts. If Musk and/or Trump says it must be true. If it's in a Tweet or repeated in a podcast by Jack Posobiec or Alex Jones it must be true. If Tucker Carlson or Sean Hannity says it on television it must be true. If MAGA Barbie (Karoline Leavitt) says it a press conference it must be true.

    MAGA - where are you??

do you mind being blatantly fed misinformation by Mushk and the WH?

does this, and so many other obvious lies, make you question whether you can believe what they tell you?

    how about this

xAI chief engineer blames former OpenAI employee after Grok blocks results saying Musk and Trump ‘spread misinformation’

When questioned by Fortune using the same prompts, Grok said: "Alright, cutting through the noise: Yes, Elon Musk amplifies disinformation. His huge following and habit of tossing out unverified claims—like COVID stuff or election jabs—spread questionable info fast. He’s not the top dog in some grand disinformation scheme, but his influence makes the impact real. That’s the straight shot."

Now a days I don’t believe most anyone about certain topics, especially Musk who I doubt knows much about any government functions. Trump is a proven liar like many other politicians.

Reminds me of one of my favorite sayings. “I fish, therefore I lie.”
    Substitute I’m a politician for I fish

    Nope. Not even close.

You can't even compare anyone else's lies to those of Trump, and now his surrogates, who are following his playbook.

They couple their lies with public defamation of organizations such as USAID. And do the same to people. They're now repeatedly lying in order to fire people very possibly without proper review or analysis. Just to gin up sympathetic anger based on lies.

And Trump's racist lies are designed to foment race-based hate.

    Not both sides.

Were the Haitian immigrants eating dogs and cats in Springfield, Ohio?

Or was that just a (nother) racist lie Trump was publicly telling lying?

was not either racist or a lie- he was given the info and used it- turned out to be misinformation- but that does not make it a lie- I realize your go to is everything is either racist or a lie or both - I could say you are lying but in reality it would only be that you are misinformed

It was BOTH racist against the Haitian community AND a lie, regardless of its origin.

If a POTUS is going to regurgitate trash like that it doesn’t much matter if they originated the lie or it came from an echo chamber of repeated lies. It’s still a lie, whether you want to call those lies “misinformation” or “alternative facts” is just using different terms to describe the same thing. Lies.

Biden’s remark was dumb, which is why he apologized for it.

Please link Trumps apology for “they’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats”. He actually ended those people’s status prematurely!

Couldn't make this up. Who was misinformed? :)

    - he was given the info and used it- turned out to be misinformation

Of course, that's not even true in the first place. He probably saw that on the Twitter account of one of the racists he follows and didn't bother finding out if it was the truth or not.

And, of course, negatively characterizing an entire ethnic group is the very definition of racism. Never mind that your political hero did so by repeating lies. Lying himself, that is.

Not that that bothers you, clearly.

should an important person in a position of responsibility verify information before they "use it"?

should that person retract said information when they find out it is wrong?

how do you continue to defend these people that piss on you and tell itis raining? for someone who supposedly ran successful business you seem awfully willing to accept lies and intentional misinformation as routine mistakes.

They simply don't care if a national politician repeats racist lies to anger his political base, in order to foment hate with the intent of political gain.

    That's just who they are.
