3 of 5 writers pick Houston to win.. I can’t see it. We are 9-1 against common opponents. Houston is 3-3. Are people just short-sighted because I believe UF wins by more than 10.
We are turnover prone and their D creates even more of those than most. Recency bias and beating the consensus unbeatable Duke gives them a perception edge.
They are 6'8 across the frontcourt and seem to utilize three players. That's a massive height and numbers advantage for us. Everyone's focusing on WCJ for good reason, but the bigs can win this game for us.
Houston's guards have great shooting percentages from three. Still, the biggest issue is whether we can run our offense against their defense. We can't have this turn into a game like Tennessee away, when we simply shut down because it was so hard to score against them. We also need to be our usual selves on the offensive glass.
Houston is going to maul us in the paint. Houston is going to frustrate us and slow us down. Houston wants a low scoring game. Then Houston will sprint down the floor and shoot threes like no one has against us. Houston will win. They say. Turn off the sound so you don’t have to listen to their fawning over every Houston success. I say.. Officials will have one game and not two. They will have more energy than the Final four second game showed. I say Houston could have been penalized for their mauling style more. They will I say CTFG knows what to do. I say the team will know what to do..entire game and not a second half correction. We will do our level best the entire game, no matter what it may look like. I say we will leave everything on the court. I say two things we have to be thankful for: The men will do us proud. Anyone second guessing anything after the game should self ban themselves for eternity from the website.
