I asked earlier if Shott is the real reason Washington had good stats. I thought he was just the Safeties coach, not DC.

The other thing that occurs to me is, would our current DB coach not have an equal resume?

I just don't get the Co DC part. Hire a great DC and live with it. If he's really good, the assistants will fall in line, learn, develop, be happy. Seems odd. A Co DC with such a light resume makes no sense to me.

It’s Billy man he took two years to fix special teams, he still has Two o-line coaches, he still slow in the portal, he still wants to call plays. Trying to make sense of what Billy has going on is impossible. I’m at the point where I want him to do it exactly like he wants too. That way If/when it fails there will be no doubt who’s at fault. You have a star at QB some of this stuff is nonsense.

    Welcome to Gator Nation Coach!

Played the position at Bama and three years in the NFL. Cut his teeth in coaching as a GA under Saban, then as a defensive assistant in the NFL for Belichick before becoming a RB position coach for the Pats. Was hired by UW as a safeties coach who in 24’ gave up 55.7% completion and 166.5 ypg. Both metrics are outstanding in P4 football. Now people are complaining because they believe that this bargain shopping? This guy has done it at the highest level and under legendary coaches. If he is coordinating our passing defense, then I am happy and the title fits the responsibilities. Let the executive DC or whatever his title is coordinate the run defense. I swear some would complain if our Co-DCs were Saban and Belichick.

Great hire. Him and Harris will lock it down. Both of them are future DCs.

    Roberts is the man.

I like the hire. Young, high energy coach with good resume and pedigree.
Hope this doesn’t affect Will Harris negatively. He has been a dynamite recruiter, motivator and apparently is a very good coach. He held that secondary together through an inordinate amount of injuries this season and they got better in spite of it.

Very good hire. Excellent. His dad has a humongous resume and I am certain he passed a lot of stuff along.

My guess, No big name would come to be co-dc with RR. He could be legit and looking for opportunities to shine. But it is the off season and we need clicks, so no! Just another AA under the shadow of an old dude in the box.

I think we need a 3rd co-DC to make sure we have all the bases covered.

People get too wrapped up in the titles. A lot of them are just creative ways to get around buyouts. They don’t really matter and it’s a weird thing for people to obsess over. One of many.

We really just want to know who is doing what on defense at some point. Year 3 of having no idea who is actually calling the defense. Lol

Scared money don't make money.......the new model is two strong coordinators to handle both sides of the ball. And a talented HC who can manage it all.

CBN doesn't seem to want anyone who will question his authority. He works hard, he's a grinder, but there are too many moving parts not to have strong coordinators.

I want him to be successful. He's seems like a good influence on our team culture and I never want the Gators to falter. But he's got to delegate.
