Starters: #13 Floor Toonders #15 Nina Rickards #11 Emanuely deOliveira #3 Lavender Briggs #1 Kiki Smith
Grambling gets the tip, but turns it over on traveling. Nina misses a 3-pointer. Grambling air balls a reverse lay-up. Turn over. Turn over. Nina with the first points of the game on a lay up.
Zippy in for Oliveira. Moore misses layup but makes 2 free throws. Warren in for Rickards. Everyone is getting in early. At 3:09, Gators 13-10.
We really should have found a coach for this season. Kelly just doesn't have the girls up and ready for anyone. Down 16-15 after 1 to Grambling State. Of course we have 4 players not playing, which makes me wonder what is going on with the 3 that were "coach decisions". We just seem to have no offense if it isn't a fast break layup.
Grambling sure puts up a fierce defense around the basket. Almost all our shots are outside. 3:35 remaining in Q2, Gators 24-22.
Starting Q3: Kiki, Lav, Emanuely, Floor, Nina Kristina Moore is down after a hard collision and fall under the basket. They are tending to her left leg. 2 trainers help her off and she’s not putting any weight on it.
End of Q3 it’s Gators 50-33. Brynn Farrell making the most of her time on the floor with 10 points, and Grambling picks up 10 more traveling calls. Just kidding on the traveling, but it’s been a lot of them!
Gatorgal…some more commentary pls as I can’t see the game and only follow the stats on Floridagatorsports. Looks like we got better in The third Q?
After 3 quarters, Gators: Field Goals 16-41 Free Throws 13-19 3 Pointers 5-16 Rebounds 31 Assists 10 Turnovers 12
Our defense improved and shots started to go down. Grambling looks like they’re running out of gas. They fouled a lot more, and we forced a couple of shot clock violations. We’ll see if they get a second wind in Q4.
Gators put the full press on and get the 10 second violation. Emanuely with the lay up. Grambling lays up and we do the same. We trade layups again. Gators 58-45 with 4:20 remaining.
