Just announced... Florida is in the NCAA as a 10 seed. Playing UCF in the first round in the UConn region!
Seeing Georgia and Kentucky getting 6 seeds, shocked to see Gators #10. The committee must have seriously degraded our chances after Smith's injury
I think 10 is about right. We closed losing 4 out of 5 and lost Kiki. The first round game is very winnable. Any second round game was going to be a stretch to win without Kiki. Great oppurtunity to see how the team stacks up against the best.
We are blessed to have a major program that is competitive. This has been a tough year for men’s football and basketball. The Women’s team was a relief from a difficult season.
I hate that Kiki will not be able to play! But excited for the rest of the team and it is important that they all have this experience for next year. They earned their way and I hope they win a game. With Kiki we would have made more noise but let’s see who steps up.
Congratulations, Gators! Big step forward. Kiki is out, but how's the health of everyone else? Is Merritt ready to go?
Kelly actually did a press conference today (!). I think she said Merritt is day-to-day. Here are some fun facts for R1 I saw in the UCF release: We have never lost to UCF in WBB (26-0) UCF has never won an NCAA game, but their HC upset us R1 of our last NCAA appearance in 2016 as then-Albany HC
Saturday 3:30pm Storrs Vs UCF Knee undisclosed so far will coach from the bench \\The winner of the matchup between the Gators and the Knights will face the winner of No. 2 UConn or No. 15 seed Mercer in the second round. “We want to earn everything, we’re not entitled, we’re not an entitled group,” Finley said. “And going into the NCAA Tournament, the mindset is no different: we’re the underdogs. We’re the 10th seed, UCF is the seventh — congratulations to them on that — but a number is just a number. That’s why you step on the floor: to compete, to be your best every single time.”
