I usually just hand wave away the "California is trying to do ____" but this, this is a bridge too far, with cars going too slow on it. Whenever I get asked if I'm in a hurry, I always respond "I didn't buy an AMG to go slow in it."

It’s possible. Back in the 60s and 70s cars sold in California had tighter emission controls and suffered worse performance than cars sold in the other 49 states.
Maybe they can also equip all those cars bound for California with portable beds to get all the bums off the city streets

Skink your heart has hardened. Please be a little more loving and understand the plight of the disadvantaged. We need to start cutting checks for these folks ! Those disadvantaged citizens need to build their financial portfolios.
So Skink please be more positive and progressive in your statements

The kid is probably 18 years old give or take a year. Males at that age aren’t good decision makers. I don’t know what the right answer is here. I wish I did like most message board posters do.

285 had the absolute craziest drivers when I lived in Atlanta. It would either move at a hundred miles an hour or zero because of all the wrecks and construction.

Thanks for clarifying that, I wasn't aware and haven't attempted to go over 95 in the past 35 years, except for during the time I lived in Switzerland in the early 90's. The Swiss have 130 km/h limit but while traveling in Germany there were a few opportunities to get up to about 170 km (only about 105 mph) but that's been my max since I was in my early 20s.
50 years ago, there was so little traffic on the road and at times you could get out on the highway and not see another car for minutes at at time. I did some crazy stuff back in those days that I would never do today!

And, didn't he also actually directly contribute to their deaths by participating in illegal racing with them? Justice is becoming a joke.

Yes, they’re locking other kids up for years for making the same mistakes. Some kid got 24 years not long ago for a street racing crash that resulted in two deaths, and he wasn’t even drunk.

Particularly when the record is what it is. You have to walk a tighter line. If we were winning like under Meyer, we could look the other way a little more.

Yep, ask any UGAG or Bama fan if they GAS about one of their guys out drag racing and killing someone. Some might pay lip service and say it's terrible until you ask them to trade a natty for it not happening.

Most likely they will base it on the highest speed limit, which in California is 70, so the limiter will be set at 80. I think it is more about control then anything else.

I agree that all those who want to help the disadvantaged should do so. In fact it should be mandated. Say two for every extra bedroom one has in their home. That way they are off the streets, get good home cooking, shelter, a clean bed and bathroom and hope for a better life.
