It’s all illegal. Pay for play is what’s happening on every team in the nation and they want to split hairs. Can they just quit with the charade already.
Unlike what happened to FSU, there is no indication that anyone with the UF program was involved with Rashada. It was only through the botched 3rd party that this blew up in UF's face. If the NCAA believes this warrants some penalty on Florida, then I'll bring down the entire college football landscape then. How, would you say I can do that? By starting a 3rd party NIL group with every major college program. I don't need any help or assistance from any of the programs and then I'll entice all of the Top 300 recruits with massive NIL agreements and then pull out the rug under each of them. The NCAA will be so overworked, they throw in the towel. This isn't too farfetched. Anyone with the means and the energy could do this even with a few schools, the perennial Top 25. If the NCAA says that the umbrella of a program extends to 3rd parties, then yes anyone could bring down their rivals by doing just that. It's time for the NCAA to disband, they are no longer needed and they are the cancer in today's student athletes. The started all of this and now decide to penalize programs for their own transgressions when it should be they that should be hit with sanctions. Has the NCAA done anything positive the last 40 years? I can't think of one thing over the last 40 years they have done well.
That Rashada kid sounded like poison from the very beginning. That’s the kids coaches gotta learn to stay away from.
The amount you pay to sit on the 50 at Florida doesn't go to the players, nor does TV money, nor does any revenue. That goes toaside from scholarship money and the traditional stuff. Fans pay the nil money. No revenue share.
The amount that he pays to sit on the 50 goes to the previous owner of the tickets and whatever resale site he buys them from. UF got their money long before he bought his tickets, and they get their money whether he goes to the game or not.
Maybe the NCAA will give us the death penalty and put this program out of its misery. I mean we have been on self probation for years now plus a self ban on bowl games.
I’m pretty sure everyone understands that by this point. How they play with the money is their problem.
Add this to the mix. FSU lost 5 scholarships… Who cares now, with NIL you just fill the roster out with NIL players who are walk ons. They have loads of cash and don’t need scholarships so they don’t count under the limit.. If you have the money you can have 100 players with 15-20 banking NIL as walk ons.
Even punters go where they still get a scholarship. Top players aren’t going anywhere just for an nil deal.
What’s a scholly worth at UF for an instate resident? Like 15k a year. Peanuts If they are getting 200-300k a year? It’s simple math they get extra to pay for school etc. No scholly limits.
