52-20 final after a crazy kickoff return by Duke.

Our hoop appears to be in the witness protection program.

A familiar score on a familiar night.

Yep. By a team and coach that aren’t afraid to show no class/no sportsmanship. It was Duke’s responsibility to stop Piffin’s boys, but no first team pissers belonged in the game for the last few scores. Duke was way outta their league without their QB1. Kiffy Boy is not my kind of coach and will never redeem himself in my eyes.

52-20, something about that score that brings back good memories and makes me smile......can't figure out why?

Question (sorry if it has already been asked):

The crowd was abysmal. It was kind of a chilly night in Jax. If the Gator Bowl would have gotten UF instead of Old Miss, would the crowd have been that much better? Methinks it would have still been pretty limited. Glad we played on a warm day and early.

This game exemplifies why I would welcome Lane Kiffin in a heartbeat as UF head ball coach. Ole Miss showed what they can do when they don't turn the ball over 8 times. This game was never in doubt. 589 total yards of offense for Ole Miss and the points to show for it. The defense played well also. To date, CBN has never been able to put together a complete, dominating performance like this. As I said many times throughout the season, the fact Ole Miss was ranked very high in both total offense and total defense this year shows you they have the chops to be elite. If they don't turn the ball over 8 times against us, they would have been in the CFP and would have been a force to be reckoned with.

If I was 4inches taller and had a great 3 point shot I’d be a dominate shooting guard.
Kiffin bought a great team and then couldn’t deliver the goods. He screwed the play calling and clearly became desperate.
I’d have much prefer Kenny Dillingham.
Right now how about we support the cia h we have that out coached Kiffin and Kelly.

But they couldn’t do so against CBN’s team… or Gene Gene Kelly the Dancing Machine’s boys, or even the blue Hilltoppers team. Kiffy doesn’t exude any of the qualities that matter in the long term. He doesn’t even try to. He can stay and continue to rot from the inside at Ole Miss. Their unis did look very nice last night, though.

Said another way, LK beats up on those he should and no shows when the chips are down. Yeah he beat kirby what did that accomplish except set the table. Lane then promptly crashed when the the moment of truth was at hand.

I get the hate for Kiffin, but that isnt really an accurate refection of their season. They lost to a less talented Florida team and were embarrassed by Ky a team they should have beaten with their backups. Conversely, they easily beat a talented SC team and dominated the SEC champs.
Bottom line is Kiffin has now won at least 10 games in 3 of the last 4 seasons. He may not be a NC level coach (not many are) and many may not like his personality, but I think the fans in Oxford are just fine with the turnaround in their football fortunes.

I think you are correct that Ole Miss fans would be perfectly happy with 9-11 wins every year.

It’s a bit of a dilemma though, the fans may be fine with it… but is Lane fine with Ole Miss, the dichotomy is that such success at Ole Miss transfers into other, higher profile opportunities.

I’m sure Ole Miss could/would make it difficult for any other school to poach Kiffin, and who knows he may be fine with Oxford as his legacy, but given his past history… I’m doubtful that’s really the case. Would he really turn down a team like Alabama for instance.

10 wins is good for any program. Beating the mutts in the regular season is a blip because it didnt lead to anything. He still hasnt won anything of consequence and rolling Duke w/o the starting QB less than impressive. The facts say he is a middling coach just like beamer at usce, despite a massive payroll and a hand picked senior qb this year

Ole Miss fans chafe miserably that they have yet to even appear in the SEC championship game that is now 32 years old. Even a lot of the johnny come lately SEC programs like Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and USCe have made appearances....even little bro Miss St got into one game. Without reaching that milestone, I don't know if they'll keep Lane around forever.
