Could have been. I guess I'm thinking the one sided wins might happen more often now that it's a thing. Imagine Tennessee last year if they tried to run rule everybody at least one time in a series. Kind of like FSU back in the day when their defense kept track of how many QBs they knocked out of games in a season.
Edit: Make that 3 run rule games so far in the SEC in just the first weekend.

My 2 cents on Ty Evans....
While I am in total agreement that Matt Prevesk should get more time in RF since Evans is struggling, I have a different take why Sully might be resistant to change. When you look at our three normal starters in the OF, Langford, Robertson, and Evans, the strongest arm is Evans. He seems to be the one guy that can rifle it to third from RF. Evans is not always that accurate but I recall several base runners this weekend that were held at second when the ball was hit to Evans. I can't compare with Prevesk because of the few opportunities I've seen him make throws. It's kind of like Halter at third. When he is batting .240 you wonder why Shelnut is not in there more. Maybe it is something else but RF will have to be a spot on the lineup to watch. If everyone else is doing fine then Evans might be okay, but if we keep having trouble hitting, then Evans' spot gets higher attention.

    SEC Standings after Week 1
    South Carolina 3-0 20-1
    Kentucky 3-0 18-2
    Arkansas 3-0 18-2
    Missouri 3-0 16-3
    Vanderbilt 3-0 16-5
    LSU 2-1 18-2
    Florida 2-1 18-4
    Alabama 1-2 17-4
    Texas A&M 1-2 14-6
    Tennessee 0-3 15-6
    Ole Miss 0-3 14-6
    Auburn 0-3 13-6
    Georgia 0-3 13-7
    Mississippi State 0-3 13-8

Notes: I think it was helpful to the rest of the league that LSU lost 1 this weekend, especially for Florida. LSU and UF both wish they would swept but they have work to do to keep from falling further back. It was surprising how many sweeps there were and how some of those 0-3 teams respond this weekend, hello Mississippi and Tennessee. Of the 3-0 teams it seems Vandy and Arky kind of took the lead but its just the first weekend. Let's give it another week and see how they all settle out after Week 2 before we start to infer the what ifs on the season.

Evans is 4th on the team with 27 RBI’s so he has produced……just saying ;) so he hasn’t been a complete wasteland

    Pitchers for FSU Tuesday night....
I think everyone should expect Nesbitt to start on Tuesday since he saw no action this weekend. Sully has plenty of arms he can use for this game. Other than the weekend starters, the only arm that was used much was Neely with 53 pitches. Fic had 26. Slater had 25. Abner threw twice for a total of 30. Fisher only threw 3 pitches, giving up a single to a lefty.
Sully has to be thinking he needs to keep spreading around the opportunities to develop the bullpen. After Nesbitt I'd put the pool at Ursitti (The Big Unknown), Fisher, Hartzog, and maybe Tejeda. If things don't go well then expect either Ficarrotta or Slater to see action for a few innings. Sully likes to test a new arm in these situations at hostile environments. As he says, you have to know how they will react when you need them on the weekend somewhere else. So don't be surprised if we see a few freshmen in there like Fisher or Tejeda and the Juco Hartzog.

No, but remember Evans got most of those stats, including his 5 doubles and 11 RBIs in the first week of the season. He's been very up and down would be the least you could say. Just like Shelnut and Halter, a little competition is almost always a good thing.

After week 1, the power seems to be in the East. Of course, small sample size.

As far as Evans, batters go through slumps and it just may be what's happening with him. Seems, Cag and a few others were slumping a bit vs bama. Funny but hitting or lack of hitting seems contagious but we should be fine. The key is pitching, limiting runs.

    SWAMP247 article on Sproat:
Dating back to April 29, 2022, when Sproat took over Florida’s Friday-night role, he has made 11 starts during which he’s built up a 9-0 record with a 2.08 ERA, 76 strikeouts and 25 walks across 69.1 innings. Florida is 11-0 in those contests.

Not a Slump...just big difference in SEC pitching and inferior d1 mid major arms.

If you're wondering how Sproat was only co-pitcher of the week with such a dominant performance, it's because Hunter Owen of Vanderbilt managed to throw a nearly identical game against Ole Miss:

    Sproat: 9 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 11 Ks
    Owen: 9 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 11 Ks

I must say it was quite impressive that the Gators got a big win tonight at FSU without hitting a homerun and banging out 14 hits for 9 runs. Instead the Gators got 5 doubles and a triple in extra base hits. Then Fic, Abner, and Neely go 5.1 innings with no runs on 4 hits and no walks over the last 5 innings. Strangely only 1 Gator starter did not get a hit and that was Kurland. Once Langford gets back it will be intriguing what Sully does with the batting order. Both teams will be back at it this Tuesday in Jacksonville at the big ballpark.

We are in the middle of 2 very important weeks in the Gators schedule against Alabama(3). FSU, Ole Miss(3), and FSU. Sully has really condensed the pitching staff. Fortunately Sproat had a great day on Thursday. But I'm concerned about the bottom half of our pitchers missing out on developing during the season. They are Yoel Tejeda, Anthony Ursitti, Cullen Hartzog, Chris Arroyo(L), Blake Purnell, Fisher Jameson, Carsten Finnvold(L), Jake Clemente, and Sam Sloan. Clemente and Sloan are unknowns like Coppola but some of these arms will need to improve over the last half of the season to get ready for tourney time. We only have 5 more midweek games left and 2 of them are against FSU. Sully still has some work to do even though 8 guys seem to be ready. Its much better than last year but we still should expect a few guys to make improvements with more than half the season to go. I'll be watching and wondering, but not thinking.

Had to grab these stats off the game feed. Our Gators site doesn't keep RISP numbers like the game cast does. I find a few of these batting comparisons of Runners In Scoring Position averages to Batting Averages interesting to look at.

    Player -------RISP - AVG
    Robertson --- .440 - .300
    Kurland ------ .370 - .368
    Caglianone -- .353 - .402
    J. Rivera ----- .500 - .416
    Riopelle ------ .467 - .308
    Evans ------- .469 - .260
    Shelnut ----- .130 - .277

    D. Fabian ---- .333 - .235
    Halter -------- .263 - .283
    Thomas ------ .250 - .357
    Prevesk ------ .800 - .417 small sample

Its a big difference and shows how well Evans hits with runners in scoring position verses his regular batting average. That's more than a 200 point improvement. But Shelnut, our sometimes DH, is struggling with RISP. Once again we see how well Prevesk is hitting, even though he's only been up to bat 12 times. Hhmmm...... I bet if Heyman had batted tonight we would have seen similar numbers like Prevesk. I say again, if Cags is not the DH, Heyman or Prevesk deserve more of a chance.

Those numbers on Evans say a lot. He just seems more locked in with RISP.

I think we gotta find ways to get Heyman and Prevesk more AB’s. I like Riopelle at First and Heyman catching. If Cags stays at First maybe Prevesk at DH.

Thank Goodness Abner is pitching so well.
    Perplexing to me is Fisher.

I was about ready to write off Abner as a bust, but his last few performances totally redeemed himself. Very impressive.

    Hope I didn’t jinx him.
