All good points 87- lots of options- again Sully will have some tough decisions to make to ensure that top guys not in the starting 8 get their reps and stay sharp and happy. Again, I'm thinking Lastres, Heyman, Tejeda- these are top rated guys that want to play and not ride the pine... I'd have Lastres in the lineup as DH even he's not ready to play D because of TJ rehab and I believe Heyman although mainly a catcher has played other infield positions. The solution there would be Heyman spells Riopelle on occasion (if Lastres not ready) with BT as DH vs RHP and Lastres gets a crack at DH in the 6 hole vs. LHP. Tejeda is a tall lanky kid, two way player LHP and has played well in the outfield so the comp. will be interesting to watch along the way. Tejeda or Lastres or Heyman could play 1st on days Cags will pitch... Many tough decisions and time, the scrimmages and early games will tell.

PS: with the new mix of players I would not assume Evans has nailed down RF-- there may be some platooning there. Evans had some big hits last year but Ks a lot and also faded some down the stretch. Again all good stuff to watch and see how it plays out.

It’s 2:20pm and not a player in sight at the ballpark. Did they cancel Friday practice?

Infield practice looked good. They had Shelnut and Halter at third, Rivera and Fabian at SS and Kurland and Thomas at second with BT working alone at first. Shelnut had a couple bobles at third but overall everyone looked good. In shorts, Rivera looks like a linebacker, he’s pretty thick.

Working on fielding bunts now. Cags, Shelnut and Fabian rotating at first base. Several players laying down bunts including a Max Brown sighting!

Fielding and throwing bunts to third base. Cags with a wild throw followed by a better throw. Most throws have been pretty accurate

Next up Shiekofer, Prevesk,SalvyAlvarez, Max Brown. Brown has no number but I’m guessing it’s him because I don’t see anyone else with dreds.

I assume coaches threw BP and pitchers will get their work in during the scrimmage.
