Alright baseball fans I'm dropping my little nugget from today's scrimmage here in the main feed. As suggested we got a possible answer to a few positions today. In the outfield we saw Robertson start in center and Langford was back in left. I'm not aware of any other practices with Langford in left. The point is Robertson has been making some nice plays in center and his speed is causing trouble on the base paths. Plus Sully had Robertson leading off with Langford batting second. Robertson came thru at the plate with a big time stand up triple to right center field to drive in the winning run. My guess we will see these two lined up again for the Georgia game.

This is what I thought would happen once Robertson got healthy or the transfer from Rutgers. I'd be shocked if WL batted lead off this year.

Hopefully Robertson can hit enough to play everyday - he is outstanding defensively. Also has Prevesk moved ahead of Evans in RF??? Judging from the reports Prevesk has been swinging it well and Evans is struggling.

It does seem that this year's team has a lot more competition for playing time than those of the recent past. That should help all the guys step up their games a little.

I think we all liked the spark Evans gave late last season, but ultimately he hit 242 and OB% of 301. Will need more from RF.....I think he is certainly capable, but so are others. Good to have options

He was a True Fr starting out in SEC play (I.e. No early season stat padding). But agreed he didn’t tear it up.

I'm not ready to give RF to Prevask yet. He has become a starter in LF and RF more often in practices so signs are improving for him. Evans tends to be higher in the batting order at scrimmages so that could indicate he still the upper hand. One difference, we saw Evans make quite a few highlight plays last year but Prevask has not shown that ability in any practice that I've been to.

That's definitely the case in the infield and at catcher. Its amazing to think we could have a high school senior starting as a middle infielder this year.

The defensive improvement last year for the last 1/3rd of the season was remarkable and RF was definitely part of it. UF didn’t lose a beat defensively by moving Thompson out of RF.

I did not realize that Stetson is a double header until now. Is this news to anyone else?

They did the same thing last year with Georgia Southern.

Pleased to see Robertson in CF and swinging the bat well.- I was impressed in last year's scrimmages before his hammy injury. Kid has blazing (6.3) speed and can get to many balls in the outfield that would drop otherwise. Not sure if he get the jump that Jud did- but better speed will help. If his bat can come around he can be a valuable asset. Plus- a lefthanded hitter with speed should leg out more than a few groundballs.

I recall the last scrimmage I was at and Robertson hit the stand up triple to RCF. After my eyes watched the run score I immediately went to Robertson rounding first and locked in as I enjoyed watching him sprint towards second and round second like a gazelle. The kid when up to speed has the longest stride I've seen of a Gator baseball player. The stand up triple wasn't even close. If any fielder would have bobbled the ball getting back in that would have been an inside the park homer if he didn't break stride.
