This explains your posting patterns!! At least now you can change. Just because others post liberal nonsense doesn’t mean you need to do it too!
In Florida summer I'll park half a mile away if it's a shaded spot. Never realized that might be planned.
Excellent post. What started as a Trump/MAGA troll thread turned out to be an interesting, even funny, discussion on people's habits and preferences while traveling at the airport. FTR, I'll be traveling in February with my sister who is wheelchair bound; and, it will be interesting to go through the "early boarding" process. Likely no "miracle" flight here - if Melissa walks off the plane I'll buy everyone who commented on this thread a drink. Travel safely this holiday and keep up the good cheer.
See: 2020 “People will do any weird thing if they think that’s the way to behave,” Gabriel explained. “When you see people lining up, getting ready, it makes you feel there’s a benefit for that.”
Me, I always do my lines early, doing them late keeps me up way too late. I KID I KID !!!! Don't touch the stuff!!!!
I have to do the aisle because I’m 6’6” and I need somewhere to put my legs. I’ve become hyper tuned to the carts in the aisle over time after a few unpleasant experiences. One of the benefits of flying southwest is no carts.
This is me. Even when I fly first class I’m not in a rush to board early. The biggest problem with waiting now is that overhead storage fills up.
I think the other thing that annoys me about waiting is you are basically stuck in the jetway for 10 minutes if you are one of the later boarders. Because the family of four with somehow ten carryons takes five minutes to get it all situated, and no one gets out of the aisle to let a few people pass while they get organized, or tried putting things in the overhead from the aisle seat so other can get by while they put their oversized bag up. I am an impatient person and someone who actually cares about not inconveniencing others, so that drives me crazy. And especially when I am in first, knowing you don’t have to deal with any of that by boarding early brings my BP down.
I love the views, getting somewhere quickly, and that rush during takeoff. The rest of it sucks. Mmmmmoooooo!!
it isn't in any florida cities that I know of. if interested, here is a good site that provides info on the various urban planning tools that can be utilized to encourage a more healthy city Healthy Cities. (healthycitiesgenerator.com)
agreed but flying in first, having precheck set up, and having lounge access makes it a different experience
I think my two main sources of anxiety are seat size (partly my fault, but I felt smushed in there even before I got fat), fear of missing connections, and spending hours traveling for an event that may only last an hour or two. I'm not having to do that post-Covid since Zoom has gotten so popular. With respect to connections, I typically accounted for a delay by scheduling a layover of at least an hour. But I got stuck overnight in Atlanta twice (and I didn't even fly that often compared to many other people). Florida's afternoon storms, for example, can create long delays given the regulated crew shifts, and there's probably not much that can be done about that. There was a direct flight from Pensacola to Miami that I used to take where I would fly into MIA and Uber into FLL to avoid the Atlanta connection. That little plane also had a single seat row, which was another benefit to me. Upgrading to first class was obviously super nice when that worked. But even when wifi was available and I had some elbow room, I didn't want to work on the plane so I would land and see 50 or 75 unread emails. I didn't enjoy that part either.
Having travelled a lot internationally, I’d say that Americans are probably the least offenders at this behavior. We actually somewhat respect lines. The rest of the world does not.
