I usually fly southwest and pay the extra $25 to have them check in early for you, that also gives you a lower A group boarding number. I always sit by the window as well. If my wife is flying with me then I just save her a seat as she likes to sit by the aisle. Hopefully, no late arriving middle seat guy shows up.
Sure, but you said you like to get in line early in order to stand, bc you'll be sitting all flight. My point is thst you an stand the same I'm line as in lobby. And you can sit down again in those 1000x more comfy seats at will....until you're on plane. Or surrender your 1000x more comfy seat, to get in line. Makes zero sense.
Window seat FTW! Window I get to lean against something. Easier to nap. Nice view. Nobody making me move. Aisle people are sub-human scum
To add to my previous list, I still don't trust them not to double-book a specific seat. I'm not sure if it even works that way, but I guess I subconsciously assume that seat possession is 9/10th of sky travel law.
I def think window is superior. Those carts'll take an arm or leg off. Just gotta not drink & take an extra flomax....otherwise I'm the asshole.
We also get authority over the entire row to regulate the amount of light and heat coming in. With great power comes great responsibility, and it's okay if some folks aren't up for that sort of commitment.
I like to get to the airport 3 -4 hours early and hit the centurion lounge or whatever one I can get access to and enjoy the free pour bars and have time to chill before I have to board. Usually in the last 10% to board though. Use my camelback to carry on whatever I couldn't do without and can fir it under seat if absolutely necessary. Always have a bet with my son if someone is going to be sitting in our exit row window seats when we get there if I'm not sitting up front. People take the seats and then act like you are the bad guy for telling them you are in their seats. I have no zero empathy for them.
depends on where you are sitting. long haul I spend the miles and sit up front and enjoy the space and preflight cocktail
travel cpap is worth the cost. lot less space so can downsize the carryon. worst vacation ever was 5 days in Barbados without my luggage. How AA could f' up a single flight direct from Mia is beyond me. Wife is light sleeper so I slept most nights out on the balcony because I checked everything that flight. never again
the miracle cure flights. ldepart with 30 wheelchair assists and then everyone runs off the plane when they arrive.
Hot women and the overhead bin are a nice combo. That said, flying sucks but sometimes it's the only viable option.
Yeah I don’t think this is some weird group think like the story suggests. People usually have what they think are rational reasons for doing it. And once one person starts, it sets off the chain. That whole cluster is one of the many reasons I fly first class when I can.
This thread has offered an unusually penetrating window into the inner workings of the minds of many of our posters.
I try to do the 10k steps a day thing. So I always park as far away from any store as possible. There are usually no cars near me when I park. There are always cars near me when I return. Sometimes two or three cars will be park near me as in adjacent to and adjacent to that one. It isn't a problem I just never understood the way people's minds work.
If I’m not flying 1st class the only real reason ImHo to get boarded early is to ensure your carry-on doesn’t get “checked”. Since I almost always just use a carry on the last thing I want to do is wait for my bag at baggage claim.
One urban planning design tool to encourage healthy activity is to build wider, shaded parking areas the furthest from the building entry as a site will allow to encourage more people to park further and get their steps in
