Looks like he passed away a few days ago on 12/27 at the age of 94.

Legacy is undeniable as his pistols are almost universally used by many/most police departments in the world. Opened the market for polymer-made, striker-fired handguns that are far more affordable, reliable, AND have higher capacity than the traditional metal-made 1911s. Also, who could forget the misinformation phase when folks thought Glocks could bypass metal detectors.

P.S. I just noticed, it appears that he and Samuel Colt have the same birthday, July 19th.

Interesting foot note (second article) where a business associate tried to kill him and - at age 69 - Glock knocked him out. He was probably 15 or 16 years old ('44 or '45) when Germany conscripted him to fight in WWII. True badass.
