It is a very nice campus and much bigger than people realize. Very fortunate to have that as a state school (free or mostly free).

It is a beautiful campus with amazing views of downtown Atlanta but it isn't even close to free even when in state and on scholarship. We are blessed to have a daughter at GT and then have another looking at a schools next year . Our second daughter will have a different path.

Cool, glad u like the campus.
My son wasn't a fan of the campus/dorms even tho he had 2 friends that attended. Of course visiting in Jan and not caring much for downtown Atlanta didn't help. Gville all the way.

Depends on the scholarship. My oldest is a Stamps presidential scholar at tech. They cover everything plus extra stipend, just in case. I would look into it. I think they give out 40 a year, half to residents and half to out of state.

It's definitely more of a city focused campus. If your into skyline views it's got those in spades. I personally gave up on downtown Atlanta 3 years ago after 20+ years.

Is the Varsity still there? Loved them hot dogs. Of course that was back in the 1970s when I lived in Atlanta. Back then there was always a guy behind the counter at the Varsity saying, "What'll you have? What'll you have?"

They are at the Atlanta airport. If we have a long enough layover my wife insists on getting them

I went to the one (the original?) right by the Tech campus. I just looked it up on the Web. Not only is it still there, they're still saying, "What'll you have?" Fantastic. Some things, praise the Lord, don't change, even after 50 years.

Eh, I used to go annually and being based on a possibly fake identity makes it all the more piratey. Aren't they all mostly based on mythical half truths anyway?

Plus nothing more in the modern pirate spirit than catching two different beers chucked from moving boats and chugging them.
