I agree. Biden should just write an Executive Order that gas will cost $1 per gallon. The all powerful OZ that he is.

I think he should have to become everyone's butler for a day, like on a TV show

I know this old and I have probably posted the link over a dozen times but if you really want to know the root cause of the skyrocketing price of oil click below (and it happened while "Sleepy Joe" was hiding from Covid in his basement):
Oil Nations, Prodded by Trump, Reach Deal to Slash Production (Published 2020)
And why it's continued to rise:
Why Are Gasoline Prices So High? Ukraine-Russia War Sparks Increases Across U.S.
Although the full article is behind a paywall the opening sentence says it all.
    And one more:
Why US gas prices are at a record and why they'll stay high for a long time - CNN

I just filled up my Prius for $37.50 and it will last me about 2 weeks …

I don’t know why everyone is so upset over gas costing less than $20 a week… I can only assume they made bad choices in life. ;).

You do recall the price controls in the early 1970's, no?

There are a lot of parallels here. And they're following the same playbook. We can likely expect interest rates to climb by at least another couple percent this year.

Yup. And a lot of us also cannot afford to add a car payment to the budget. It costs me less to fill up a little more than once a week (40mi commute one-way) than it would to take on a car payment for an electric or a hybrid.

Regardless of who you feel like blaming, this is referred to as a "price ceiling" (look it up) and is an extremely bad idea. Anyone want a repeat of the long gas ration lines from the late 70s? This is a surefire way to get it.

Poster has to be astounded that Joe gets to cause gas prices to go up world wide. Just like all the inflation worldwide is also Joe I'd bet. Poster must be quite blissful if the old saying is true.

I found a great deal on gasoline for you.. all you have to do is move to your favorite place and it’s $3.18 per gallon.
