(SB) Game Thread: Florida vs. South Alabama - Sat. 5/18 @ 1 pm - ESPN+

Umpires have nothing to do with the weather delay. UF has devices that detect lightning. Game will be delayed until it's 30 minutes past the last detection. Game should have been started at 11 AM.

 

I've toured the Gator locker room and it is first class, very luxurious. Is there even a visitor locker room or do they just sit on the bus?

 

Interesting. There's no reason for them not to post the clock so that everyone could know what's happening. I could go run errands if I knew I had a full 30 minutes to get back!

You’ll more than likely have a 30-45 minute heads up when they plan a start time. Doubt they just take the field with no notice.

We got a sprinkle coming through Jonesville on the way back to Alachua. No rain or lightning on the way into town or back, other than the half mile of sprinkles on the way back.

 

the area of rain that produced the delay isn't the main event over the gulf headed towards gainesville. doubt this game gets finished today even if restarted. think postpone is likely.

 

10 minutes of sprinkles have passed. Bright at KSP, although cloudy.

Game can restart up to midnight.

 

Minimal good news but the strong line coming in off the Gulf appears to be weakening somewhat. Still think we're in for a long delay.

 

maybe this game if lucky. it is like a train coming at you with no way to get out of the way. we could have softball after the other regionals are finished, hopefully on free tv.
