Tim Walton really praised South Alabama's pitcher in his pre-game remarks. Said we have to get good pitcvhing on our side, plus play solid defense so as not to give them anything while our offense tries to figure out a way to scratch out a few reuns.

 

Uh-oh. Single, sac bunt, RBI single puts South Alabama up 1-0 ikn the top of the 1st.

Florida vs. South Alabama (NCAA Regionals)

 

Skylar gets thrown out trying to steal 2nd for only the 2nd time this year to end the 1st inning.

 

Keagan must not be hitting her spots early today. South Alabama is a weak-hitting team who barely eeked out a 1-0 win over FAU yesterday. Already 3 hits today for the Jaguars.

 

Mia Williams makes a great catch on a line drive, then throws to first from her knees to get the DP and end the inning.

 

Just an FYI. South Alabama's 2nd baseman, Ordalys Cordova who hit into that line drive DP, is from Orlando and started out as a Gator. But she transferred out after the fall semester of her freshman year, went to Central Florida College in Ocala for 2 years and now is at South Alabama.

 

3 up 3 down for the Gators min the bottom of the 2nd. Lackey has only thrown 26 pitches to get 6 outs. 1-0 USA going to the 3rd.
